Chronicle 2

Chronicle 2: Age of Splendor represents the second major expansion of the Lineage II game world. Beautiful new 3-D environments, new quests, spells, monsters and enhancements will be added, making the ever-changing world of Aden an even more exciting and dynamic online experience.

Perhaps the single-most startling new resident to the land of Aden is Baium, the fallen king. A towering building tall enough to reach the heavens was to be his greatest achievement, but it became his prison – the Tower of Insolence. His conceit incited the wrath of the god Einhasad, who cursed him with immortality and confined him to the top of the tower. As Baium watched his kingdom collapse over the generations, he slowly went mad. After centuries, even his very form began to change. Now he waits atop the tower, grotesque, insane and monstrously powerful!

  image

Those who wish to challenge Baium must face terrible obstacles. One cannot ascend the tower without the aid of rare, magical stones. Questing for these will be a harrowing ordeal in itself! Once inside the tower, adventurers must face Einhasad’s very own guardian angels, which have been charged with keeping Baium sealed inside for all time.

A mammoth Coliseum, much larger than any other arena, has been built near Aden Castle. Here, entire clans can prove their worth and settle grudges within the imposing walls of this massive battleground.
Ride-able mounts will be available to anyone who demonstrates the patience and dedication needed to care for a dragon hatchling. By leveling a hatchling high enough, it will become eligible for a quest that will allow it to become a Strider. These reptilian beasts can speed a rider across the land on its powerful legs. It can also serve as a valuable ally in battle using its formidable jaws!

After the collapse of the Elmore-Aden Empire, Lionel Hunter swore allegiance to King Raul, bringing Innadril into the Kingdom of Aden.

The presence of the goddess Eva is felt strongly throughout Innadril. Her lament quiets the beasts in the Field of Silence. Her blessing brings mysterious sounds to the Field of Whispers. She has also made a magnificent Underwater Garden, guarded by rare monsters and a gate that rarely opens. Humans and Elves live in the Floating City of Heines, surrounded by flowing water in honor of their patron goddess.

Every week, we add useful bits of knowledge based on real game-play issues encountered by gamers. Here you will find help for categories ranging from Commerce & Trade to PvP & Karma. If you are stumped by something in the game, you just might find the answer in our Tips of the Week section!

Do you want a chance to show off your artistic talent, and win cool prizes in the process? It’s time to throw down your hard-earned adena for the sake of art.

If you’ve been around, you probably know what adena art is. If you’re new to the game, or have spent the last several months wandering the wilderness in search of Master Toma, here’s the deal: You can drop one adena at a time in any arrangement you wish to create all kinds of images.

Feel free to start brainstorming, but don’t start laying down the adena just yet. Check the contest page for more details.

until they come up with an effective way to whipe out those Adena Farmer Bots, I wont play it.

It's a shame too....if they cut that out, and up the rates of sp/xp/adena it would be a decent game.

You're making by far too much of a deal out of the "farmers", everyone farms and by now most clans are strong enough to fight with farmers and the game balances itself out. The rates are fine, especially after C1 where they were opped slightly, heck I have found much stuff, including rare stuff that sold for 3+ million adena.

Actually, I'm making a big deal out of the Chinese Adena Farmers because it is a big deal. You ask anyone why they left the game and probably about 8 people out of 10 would say:

The Chinese Bots/Chinese Adena Farmers ruined it for me. Or The Grind seemed endless and had gotten very boring to just hack hack hack.

You may not agree with me however it is a fact. A lot of people left lineage 2 in droves (I was one of them).  And the above reason was why they did.  Others left due to either the poor PvP system or the bad GM service.

It's one thing to farm, farm, farm to get adena to buy more equipment...its another thing to set up a Bot program to let it do all the work and then sell the adena on ebay...multiply that by hundreds and there's the problem.

However, if you like the game then that is all what counts.  This is only my opinion. If you like Lineage 2 then that is awesome! image

Again, people ASSUME they're bots. People vastly overreacted because of the natural overcrowdedness of a new game, which has now flowed out over multiple levels, so its really not a problem anymore except in few confined areas. People learn to deal with it instead of just whining at the first obstacle. (not saying you did that, but many did)

GM service was poor in the beginning, mostly because they were inexperienced with a game such as this...but its got alot better and the developers/gms now mingle with the community, responds properly to complaints, help, communicate and seem to keep on improving...I am impressed that they reached such a level of service after just 6 month of the game being up...compared to some other games which took and is still taking years to really improve.

Yeah botters and farmers were a problem.  That has dropped significantly recently.  If you have not played in the last month, your information is out of date.

If ya don't like the game fine ya don't like it.  No game is going to please everyone all the time.  If people left in droves no one noticed, thousands still play, and the newbie areas are constantly in use by new players. I realize that some are re-rolls, but alot ( I ask cuz I do care) are new people to the game.

If you want to bash the game, again cool  eveyone has their own opinion and of course this is exactly the forum to make yourself heard.  However, at this point your "farmer/botter" arguement is becoming moot.  Come back, don't come back up too you, but your gonna want to get a new reason to bash it.

Or not maybe you just feel like being shallow.  Up to you.

    Cheers!

Its not just the botters and I made that point clear in several posts

Its also the extreme grinding that is associated with the game.  I dont like whacking hundreds of monsters for 4 days to go from lvl 44 to lvl 45.  But thats just me

And I completely agree with you En1gma,the grind does suck.  They did pad it a bit with chron one, but yeah I have ot admit the grind does suck.

now, if they fized the grinding issue Id probably give it a whirl...I def. believe ya that the botters have decreased as I heard this elsewhere as well.

Maybe knocking the XP rate .5 times the usual rate....things may go more smoothly.  Heh, I dont know...who knows, NCsoft could change it.

Going from your other post, its about 0.05%, which means about 2000 mobs to a level, it takes a while yes, but there are already level 60 characters in the game, close to max and this game has been out for 6 month.

Seriously, if you made the "grind" any faster, everyone would have über characters in a month...not much fun in a competitive game.

  • HatefullHatefull Member EpicPosts: 2,503

Yeah actually, there is at least one level 70 Char in the game at this point.

And I must disagree, in speaking with this guy he had to grind insane amounts of time to get through the 50's and 60's.  And has yet to break into 71.  Maybe cap not sure.

However it should be difficult, but not a full time job.  Basically NC soft has made it so you must power game in order to move forward, and for alot of people that is not realistic.  which pushes them to One, bot.  2 buy cash/items from 3rd party vendors or 3. just quit.

I have sometheories about point number 2 there.. What if NC soft got a kick back from the adena selling companies.  I mean an internet cafe would already need to have 15 accounts to make any money on the game, so they buy accounts in bulk, they maks a ton of cash, and obviously sell alot of cash. NCsoft CS refused to do anythig about the botting/farming until just recently.  Like I said a theory, but I am sure if we could see thier financial reports they prob just broke even on production costs with in the last month.  Hmmm.

Anyway I have no proof to back that up, its just my opinion.  But somone gots to be gettin paid.

I quit cause of the adena bastards. Those chinese are whores. Most are not bots but they are gay.
The grind was too hard. THey nerfed the bows. Shame, would have been a good game. In C1, they should have put in C grade stuff and not wait till C2 those bastards.

I recently re-activated my Lineage II account.  I am back playing every night and I am surprised to say that I am really enjoying it.  This may be because of the decline in Bots/Adena Farmers, although I still hear complaints about then in-game, they are not everywhere like I remember.

Also, I joined a great Clan with some really nice players and that always makes playing a game more fun.

I just reached level 20 and became a Shillien Oracle, which has already added some extra fun to playing.  I am having no trouble with lag or other tech. issues.  The game is running just fine.

Finally, I am really looking forward to Chronicle 2.  After seeing the changes from C1, I am hope there will be more improvements with C2 coming up soon.  I can't wait to explore the new areas, and try to get a strider.

I still haven't been involved in a Castle Siege yet, but that is another goal of mine while I play Lineage II.  I always thought that it was a good game at it's core, but it has been improved slightly, just enough to keep me interested and having fun for a while until Everquest II comes.

Please point out anywhere in my post where I support farmers and bots.  You have horribly misread my statement.  I said "until they come up with an effective way to whipe out those Adena farmer bots, I wont play it."

Hence the phrase whipe out means: To destroy, to do without, to make without existance.  Therefore my phrase means that I wont play it until they deal with the problem.

Now, lets look at the second half of my statement:

"It's a shame too...if they cut that out, and up the rates of sp/xp/adena it would be a decent game"

This means: If the Developers were to change the way the sp/xp/Adena drops worked to a more less grindful experience I would play it and I would think the game would be very nice.

Again, I have no idea where you get in any of my posts that I support bots. And if you're talking about somehting else completley different you need to be more specific.

Did you even read the post?, I didn't say you were supporting them in your post, I said you were supporting them working with a site which support farmers and farmer companies through advertisement...if you think this is bad, then maybe you should tell whomever runs it that it is bad and it sucks.

But for now those advertisements supports farmers in every game.
