Come and play Lineage2. New patches are coming out which are making it better. Once you get in a clan with some cool people and get to a fairly high level then the game gets really fun. They have a lot more cool things to come out. I think that Castle sieges are awesome, and when the next patch (Chronicle 2) comes out then there will be a new caslte, Stryders that you can ride, monster races, a huge collusium for clan PvP (basically a giant PvP arena for clans) and a whole lot more things. There are a total of 12 Chronicles in the game and only one has come out yet. This game will keep getting more fun as time goes on.

Can I start out with a fairly high level toon?
If not, then there is no way in hell I'm putting up with the Chinese farmers, the Chinese/Korean gank squads, and the sheer hellish tedium that is the level grind to get to the fun. Any game that requires me to grind to 'a fairly high level' before I get to experience the fun stuff needs to be scrapped, and started over. And I, and I imagine plenty others here have no interest in playing that game.
Not even if they paid me.
I know that the grind sucks, and they should definitely make it more fun for the lower levels. The game could be great if they changed a few things about it, maybe even more than a few. But still a lot of things about it are cool.
If you have a clan, then things become much more fun, as you can level with them, or if people are picking on you then you can get your clan mates to come out and help you. With chinese farmers, at least the ones that ks and what not, just kill em and go red then get your clan to help you work off the karma. It doesnt really take that much work.
I know we all have different oppinion on what we like in a game but I have played Lineage 2 and personally think its an abomination...sorry.
There is still very little, if anything, being done about it. Still, after playing for a few months of beta and then a month of the final, I am back. I re-activated my account to see what changes where made and how the game has come along.
There really aren't many improvements I can see. Lag is even worse for me now that when I was in beta! I am still grinding to reach my level 20, which has taken me so long it is embarressing. Still, I feel compelled to log in every night and play. Once in the game and things get going, I have fun. Once I die because of lag or a nasty pk'er, I lose interest and realize that the game has issues.
I am not a sore loser, it's just that it takes so much time and effort to advance, and all it takes to erase all that is lag or something totally out of your control. Something needs to be done. Until then, I guess I will suffer a little more until World of Warcraft and Everquest II.
I played lineage 2 until i hit about level 33. I had a really cool group of people in my clan but it didn't change the fact that the game is really terrible. The bots and EXTREME level grind killed this game for me. I was actully pretty hooked for awhile but then saw how many flaws the game really has. Most people i talk to mostly get bored to death by about level 30 so it takes alot of boring level grinding to even get to a level where you can partake in a castle siege. By the way level 30 is nowhere near high enough to be in a castle siege. Bottom line, the work is nowhere near worth the reward.

? isn't L2 $20 or $25 per month subscription, not including client purchase? And full of anti-US pkers & macro-bots ?
Lineage ][ is the same price per month as every "newer" mmorpg (15 bucks). I wouldn't say Lineage ][ is full of anti-US pukers but the game still has the macro-bots and the grinding level is pretty crazy.
You can pretty much get money easy if you're ina good clan so you can afford that 2 million adena bow...but the grind is still nutty.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
my complaint is the exp loss on death.. at high levels, a castle seige which is great fun mostly likely, could end up costing you a month of leveling....
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
Sorry no, i played L2 and it is the worst mmo ive played. terrible EBay driven economy, farmbots everywhere and the biggest bunch of rude racist children ever. the players as much as the gameplay and lack of customization make this game suck.
My PvP game of choice is shadowbane, endless customization and a slightly higher maturity lvl makes SB own L2 IMO.

I beta'd Lineage 2 as well as Had a subscription for... three days
Three Complaints
1.GRIND+EXP LOSS! You could spend a whole day fighitng and only get 20%! 20% on EQ would make me feel satisfied but not on this it wasnt even fun.
2.QUESTS. The Quests sucked in my opinion. YOU DIDNT GET EXP FOR KILLING THE QUEST MONSTERS???!!!!
3.Hackers/bots/farmers.... Self explanatory

Chronicle 2 is still not out?! I can't believe that NCSoft released an incomplete game...decided to put all the features they promised about the game in Chron 2 and are just now putting it in. Sorry but that makes me want to play the game even less.

Stay away from this game. Too much must happen to get any fun out of this one. Wont happen.
I'm sorry but, LOL l lineage 2 needs WAY more than a patch to become at least a bit better. hehe they should re-make it and think what they are doing this time. L2 is amongst one of teh worst mmorpgs ive ever played. in fact L2 is head-to-head with homeworld 2, and eve online(i don;t really like to call hw2 or eo an MMORPG, but oh well)
I played this "game" (was more like a very bad job) while it was open beta.
IMO L2 is the biggest piece of digital crap I've ever seen !
I'd rather gouge my eyes out with a fork than re-install that garbage on my pc
