How long since last patch?

I think its a fair question and one that is beeing asked on the official forums now.

Are patches now weekly or monthly ?

The answer from Funcom is weekly - but the facts tell us montly.

But again - the Funcom staff has no problems in keeping up the lies.

Glen 'Famine' Swan

I don't see us doing 1 patch a month. I do see us sticking with the bi-weekly plan set in place however.

Oh really...     Again - How long since last patch ?

You should be thankful, in fact.

The less frequent they patch, the more time you have to enjoy the remaining bit of non-broken aspects of the game, untill they release a new patch and ruin that too...

Just becouse the PvP patch has been delayed, does not mean they are not patching.

anything faster than monthly is a mistake that has been learned by other companies.

It's not that adding new content is not great.. it's that your code modules get mixed up and it's a QA nightmare.  When you try to have weekly patches, you end up breaking more than you fix because  If you have it monthly, you have  a 3 week work peroid and then a one week QA lockout.  Without the QA lockout (like in a weekly update system) code is constantly being shuffled in right until patch day and there is not enough time to realize if the changed modules mesh together.

In case you missed it when you log into the came and it patches up and then comes to the screen where you log in, at the bottom in the box for the past two months it said that they hope to bring a bigger update every 2 weeks instead of every week. So there was an update 6th August <13 days diff> to August 19th <9days diff> to August 28th <18 days diff> to pending 16th Sept big patch. Guess what the average for that is 13.3 days, looks similar to the every two weeks notification I got. Even with the slight pushback for the PvP patch the average is every two weeks. Since Aug 6th, go back further than that and it gets better.

Exactly, for many  of my friends (myself included) we quit because of the terrible quality of the patchs. This was the first game I have played that I dreaded patch day.

    Check linkie; http://forums-eu.ageofconan.com/forumdisplay.php?f=6

Now you can see the patced and the patch notes.

And remembered thinks like fixes for exploits are not listen in the patch notes.

I would not state how many MB the patches are. I cannot see why amount of MB is a good mesurement of patches and fixes.

Yep sorry to disapoint you but they are doing bi-weekly updates and on average thats what it works out to be ever since they said they would be doing them, from the once a week patch.

So Famine is correct by saying he doesn't see FC doing a once a month patch as everything so far has been fortnightly or otherwise termed in N.America Bi-Weekly. These do not include emergency patches either which have happened to update a patch same day or following day.

The first week they said they would be doing Patches every tuesday and thursday, I think that lasted for 1 month in which they hit their scheduled patch once or twice.

Then it changed to weekly on weds, That lasted for like 2 months which they hit their scheduled time once. What makes you think this bi weekly thing will work out for them.

Next they will tell you its monthly and they will miss that date by a month.

Its a horribly mismangaged company when they cant even come close to hitting any of the deadlines they set for themselves.
