I created an account with the preorder codes of a CE,so i played in open beta and now on head start..I am planning to buy the SE ,so my question is...will i be able to retain my character i ve created with the head start code of the CE?

well now, logically speaking, have you entered a code to take you from beta to live? if not, then just whack in the code you get with your normal edition, should be fine.
however i do now think you may be a bit of a blunt for ordering something which you had no intention of buying, why cant you just use the code from CE? The code itself is no different now that all keys are being accepted. Unless ordered just for beta, which indeed, makes you a fetid axe wound

I am doing the same thing. There is no way they will reject you adding any retail account to a beta account. Should be just fine.
im not sure but i think that i ve read somewhere that characters will be deleted if you have used a head start ce code,and then a se code to register the game

I think it will work, and for sure no characters will get deleted.
The only thing you will miss are the ingame ( and out of the game ) bonusses you get from the CE.
Like the different heads and stuff.

well,i got the ingame ce items,at least for the head start....wil they be removed when ill activate the se code?
my guess is since you have a code for every single different bonus that the CE edition offers. the game key is just the same format as the SE game key, so what makes it CE is the whole pack of keys.
I really doubt they will be tracking if you bought the CE or not and delete your items, you bought the pre-order pack with the bonus items end of story.

If you have a CE pre-order pack and for any reason don't get hold of a CE retail box, you will be able to validate your account with an SE retail key and all your pre-order bonus codes will still be valid.

You can put an SE retail code on a CE headstart account; however, you will not get the extra heads or quests.

well tbh,i think they have different preorder codes for ce than se.Eg ce codes start with PCEA01-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX,but se codes start with ABCD-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.This way theyu ll know if uve used ce or se

I hope it doesnt work,ppl try to get hold of a CE and couldnt as ppl like yourselves have ordered 1 with no intention of following it up,I also cant see why companies would allow this sort of practice as it would leave alot of CE copies on the shelf as you would get all the bonuses and not have to pay for it.

Yep it has been said the SE code will work with CE account but you wont get all the extra quest/title etc .
All those people that are wrongly pre-ordering WAR that wouldnt buy it afterwards, would all just to WARs deffence as fanbois if I said it was shit, but are haappy with not purchasing the coppies they preordered.
In order for your account to keep the head start bonuses you need to enter the box key or your items will be removed and your account locked. There will be a grace peirod for about 2 weeks i believe.

I think you guys made some gross assumptions. I never said I wasn't still buying the CE. I pre ordered CE and SE. I made my account with the pre-ordered CE codes so I could get the headstart on Sunday, but I am sending the CE to a friend that lives in Manchester(EU) so that he can play with us on the US servers. He couldn't play until tomorrow so he didn't care about the early headstart. I will be adding my SE retail key to my CE pre-order account and he will be adding his CE retail key to his SE pre-order account. I was just saying I am also adding a SE key to my CE pre-order account. I never said I wasn't buying the CE. I wasn't aware that I needed to disclose that much information. It's a little ridiculous to have to defend myself over something so trivial in the first place.
** And others will be happy that some CE's are getting cancelled flat out because that means there will be more available from the vendors. I know some vendors were expecting to sell out of them by launch.
There are some smacktards here, so Ill lay something out for you. A friend cancelled his CE box and offered me his codes, I took them and passed my SE codes on to a guildy who was having trouble getting his from EA.
Now Im going to set about reporting people.
I think I'm going to request a lock for this thread as well so it doesn't become a flame war and since I believe the original question was answered anyhow. This site is rather ridiculous when it comes to people bashing one another rather then talk about the game.
