Question about the Open Beta???

I went to Fry's elcetroncis the other day and I saw WoW preorder thing that cost $9.99 which comes with a WC novel. If I buy that will I be able to join the beta? Does it come with a CD key?

    I'm pretty sure you're just buying the book and a pre-order.

    There's no word on this at Blizzard's site.

    Anyone will be able to join the open beta when the time comes. You do not have to sign up for anything in advance in order to play in the open beta.

    I already pre-ordered WoW limitted edition, or whatever they call it. I did not recieve a beta application when I did it.

    It seems that blizzard is giving out it's accounts through contests at the moment. They gave out a few in fileplanet, and other sites as well. keep your eyes pealed.

    Also, keep in mind that the supposed release date for the game is november 15th. and that open beta will have to start before that. image

    If there is one, your guess is as good as everyone elses. Keep in mind that mid november is a VERY realistic release date!::::28::

    my guess on open beta would be sometime this month, probably towards the end... i still think mid-november is a really optomistic release date... personally i'm thinking december before christmas but i can't see it happening on the Nov. 15th date i see floating around a lot... just doesn't seem quite doable to me but then again, its only my opinion and i may not have a clue

    i don't think the realease will be before december, because the open beta won't start before all "retail features" (talents for every class, battle grounds, etc.) made into the game. this will at least take 2-3 more major patches.

    so my tip is:
    open beta - december 1st week
    release - 2 weeks before christmas

    We are talking Open-EU-Beta here right?

    The last i heard about that was that the open EU beta would start the same date as the US retail release, but i might be wrong as usual.. image

    In that case my guess for open EU beta would be around mid december 2004, EU retail release first quarter 2005..

    Personally, I wouldn't mind if they just released the game now and patched in extra content afterwards.  There's way more than enough content in it already, and Blizzard is unfortunately known for delaying their games until the game is completely "finished"... I hope thats not the case. I'm still holding fast for Nov. 15th :) Got my game money in the side compartment in my wallet, my cars fueled up and ready. And I got an alarm set for that nov 15th 10am when the mall opens :P
