I can't find a class I like : It's the one downfall of the game and while they've made sooo many improvements since I last played I still find the classes boring. It's a bugger that the one class I thought was fun which is the Witch Elf ends up being a emo Elf female only class......
So I'd like the ability to test out each class on a test battlefield like you had in Planetside where you got to try out the vehicles and weapons in your Sanc. This will save me having to go through every single class and leveling them up to see if I like them or not and getting bored.
This happens in most mmorpgs with lots of classes and most of them ain't any good because I remember in EQ2 I went through alot of classes and hated them all and ended up quiting because I couldn't be bothered with it anymore.

Well you have the wardb site that lets you see all skills for all classes, and you can just roll up a level 1 class and check the career trainer for core and master skills and if you read through them you will get an idea of how the class plays. Trust me I took like 9 different classes to level 10 in the beta to try to decide but I couldn't figure it out until I used this method. Even now I have 3 different characters I play a good bit. Warrior Priest on Oceanic server for when I play in the morning, Witch Hunter on core-rp server for Order loving, and Marauder on open rvr server for some World RvR fun. I made one of each chaos and order class across 7 servers just in case cause I want to have all 7 classes at least level 10 for some variety.
Anyway though, read the skills and you will figure it out.
I'm an elder beta tester so I've played almost every class available (even got to play with Choppas a bit
) although, I have very little experience with Order healers.
What do you like to do?
Uh .. doing this in a level based classed game wouldn't help you with your descision...when i was in CB we'd get Tier 3 & 4 chars and if I played any classes that I hadnt' played alot before or never at all I had no idea what I was doing with the tons of skills & tactics and everything else they had unlocked.
If you dont like a char at Tier 1 you probably won't ever like them. One of the things about level / class games is your learning your char over time perfecting him learning all the ins and outs on how to use his skills..having all the skills at teh beginning doesn't suddenly make him better it just makes you worse as seen with power leveling systems. People buy a power leveled toon and have no damn idea how to play them which ruins the experience.
IF WAR ever offered this it'd be a SAD SAD sign for an MMO. Not even UO put up its buy a high skill toon until long after its decline had begun.
well its not ilke any of us will miss you .... it just makes it extra sweet they aren't and probably never will since no one else does or would. (planetside doesn't count its not a pure mmo).
I played CB where you started at level 31 too and you get the hang of it pretty quickly and get a good feel of a class. I don't see how letting you go to like a PVE training site would harm the game because it wouldn't effect the game at all....... just let you go through all the classes to see which one you liked rather than having to waste lots of time leveling up to like 6 each time to see if you like it.

The journey is what matters and if you can't at least get a little attached to something you are going to make, just because later it might not prove to be good enough... then this isn't the genre for you.
It's about the journey and this post depicts you as the prime example of those who want it now. You are the step before the "give us a server with all max lvl chars and best gear" type of gamer.

As the previous poster stated, if you don't like them in the beginning, you will never get to like them. You are probably better off finding another game. Or you might need to think about this:
MMORPG's are not for you.
A mmorpg game its like a voyage , sure the destination counts alot , but the journey itself its probably more than half of the importance . The act of leveling a certain class can make you change your mind about what seems to "suck" at level 1-5 . Just try to pick a couple that you like and bring them to level 12-14 , make sure to try every aspect of the game , PVE , PQ and PVP . After you reach T2 you should be able to tell if that class is for you or not and the time "wasted" wont be alot and will be well worth it .

Who gives a shit about lore or the jounrey tbh because thats the most boring part. All I wanna fucking do is find a class I like in PVP and just Kill shit.......... I don't care about leveling up because its a pointless time sink and PVE is sooo boring because the AI sucks.
Just let me easily test each class quick;y so I can find one that plays to my liking.
Well you have just proved that this genre is not for you. Go play a FPS. Now.
Please tell me one MMORPG where that is possible. And dont say planetside, because that is vehicles like you said, not classes (and its not a mmorpg, anyhow)

To be honest just play the class to level 5. Doesn't change much past that. Or just look at each classes talent trees. If you find a tree you like... run with the class.
That said this is WAR finding a class is pretty simple... pick a race you like... down to 3-4 choices... pick a style ranged v melee... down to 1-2... role... poof your class. Now pray you like the specs available
Also hope your alt choices are on the same side or you get the fun that is server bouncing yay ugh.
Disciple is by far my favourite class but... Dest tanks and melee dps toons and I don't get along so have to roll Order for WP, WL and IB. That's if I actually buy WAR instead of resubbing to WoW to get my toons to 70 for WotLK.

I agree. Although sadly this is exactly the sort of mentality that is killing the MMORPG industry to the point that it'll become an arcade game where anyone can log in, choose their level, gear and start playing.
Because there are SO many male witch elves in the table top game.....

{ Mod Delete }To Papa Lazarou if all you want todo is Kill Stuff then this isnt the game for you nether is the genre mmo's are ALL about leveling up, questing alone or with friends and having fun , and the game isn't all about just pvping and killing shit you need and should play threw the quests and learn where the ideas for the game came from and the story of the game YOUR paying monthly for, and you say leveling up is pointless and the AI sucks well if you feel that way get lost and go play a FPS where the AI isn't stupid as you think mmo AI sucks and you can just kill people online all you want and not have to waste your time leveling up as you dont seem to like that.

I have played every MMO that has ever come out.
It seems like all you do is bitch and moan about one thing or another.
Go play Guild Wars if you want any semblance of MMOG with PvP and instant leveling.
Mythic tried the instant level option in DAoC (only to level 20). It did major harm to the introduction of new players into the game. So much in fact that they removed that option with the Classic server set (along with Trials of Atlantis stuff). And, now, those servers are the most populated of the whole game. Instant leveling in a MMORPG = death.
Oh... and since this genre isn't for you, please refrain from posting or coming to this site ever again. Thanks.
If you want to just get in and kill shit MMO style then Guild Wars is your game.
If you really really want to play this game, then make a level 1 character, travel across the map to the little orange zone called RvR, and go right into PvP with your level 1 skills. you will level up and gain new abilities, at a slower pace of course.
you really should try the different classes to level 5 or 8ish. If nearly all the classes aren't your cup of tea, then perhaps you should ask yourself. "Are the classes sucky or is the combat engine sucky?" Most likely you lack of appreciation for the classes comes fromt he combat engine and not the class makeup themselves.

Ultima Online has a test server. It's a skill based game though, but you could still start a character there, max any skills you wanted and give him any items and then go and test out the template in PvP. It's pretty cool. It also allows the developers to release patches / changes there first before they go live and properly test them and get player feedback.
Never heard of this, but it's actually a pretty good idea. Have a test type server where you can check out endgame abilities.

This is the laziest post I have read in a long time, would you like them to play it in game for you to.
These are "Role Play Games" the whole point in these games is the Adventure Feel, exploration, progressing your character with new skills, armor, weapons, crafting. If you all you want is instant end game with no exploring etc... Play a Beat em up...or FPS.
You, and many like you are the type of players that make these games alot less fun for the rest of us. Get out of here, we dont want to know about you!
