So that it can be played in Germany; the Germans are very testy about anything nazi. The whole script was probably rewritten into a completely different story not involving nazis.

Good thing Hitler didn't defeat the Planateers, I assume that 4/5ths of them would wind up in a concentration camp.
My mind is still trying to tell itself that this was a spoof of some kind, but no, it does appear to be real. Watching this makes me want to stab myself in the scrotum with a pen knife. My defense mechanism is to point out the logical fallaciesI noticed in this clip, even though it's not necessary:
1. If the Allies were this close to the heart of Germany to be able to roll a squad of tanks in in short order, then Germany's infrastructure was already obliterated and the evil time travelers would know Germany had nothing to offer for an A-bomb.
2. If those people really watched a nuclear detonation at that range, staring directly at it, they'd probably be blind.
3. The soldiers that stormed the castle were clearly American, and included black and white soldiers in what seemed to be the same unit. The army was still segregated at that time.
