Hi i play FFXI and i think the style of graphics are alot like FFXI in EQ2 and i like that...The gamesplay is meant to be alot better i never played eq but i heard was good....fxi is great but gets a bit repetitive and the price is a bit gay...I hope eq2 is alot cheaper and alot better...if so i'll be changing games..givge me some opinions so i know whether to change...and opinions from ppl who play FFXI.

It wont be much cheaper, although you wont have to pay for extra characters and card games. Youve still got awhile to keep playing ffxi until eq2 comes out, so might as well make the most of it. And eq2 should be a much better game in all aspects.

FFXI was a lot of fun for the 6 months I played it but I found near the end it just became boring.  I had done all of the quests, which is one of the things I love to do in mmorpgs.  EQ2 is all about questing, hence the name "EverQuest."

The one thing I absolutely hated the most in FFXI was not being able to do anything at all to gain xp without a full party.  Waiting for 3 hours for a party is ridiculous IMHO.  On a brighter note, EQ2 is doing everything they can to avoid this situation.  Expecting one of each archetype to be in a party leaves 2 spaces open for whatever the group wants.  They have also said that a party without one of each of the archetypes will still be able to function, albeit at a slower rate.  I like how this encourages strategy and interdependancy.

Finally, in EQ2 you can solo, and EVERY class can solo.  This alone makes it better than FFXI IMHO.  Don't want to sit in Qeynos or Freeport for 3 hours waiting to get a party??  You don't have to!  Go out and solo!  That's the beauty of it and the one reason I'll never consider going back to FFXI.

that really why its called everquest? never thought about that.  but if it were true there would be unlimited quests and not just 1500+ hehe

I have no clue why they called it Everquest. Although, given Brad's second game is called Vanguard: Saga of Heros, it would appear that he's not good with coming up with names for the game. ::::18::

I'm not sure how many quests there were in the original Everquest, but I doubt it was 1500, and frankly most of them weren't worth the time it took to read the flavor text, let alone actually complete them.

well the 1500 i was refering to was for eq2.  Never played the first one so I dont know how many there are there.

Wow 1500 thats something hope they will be fun to do.

I am playng EQ1 now I find the quests a bit weird and hard, I was to deliver a message to a NPC but the problem was I couldnt find the NPC but could be that I just have bad luck.

If you find any spelling mistakes you can keep them.

i think they said its up to about 1700 quests in now. but, i would like to see someone do them all...you would give up before you could complete them all.

yeh i got to level 28 war/15 MNK and got fed up with money, what advanced job shud i get this time, the party thing was annoying so maybe a beastmaster or a Summoner? I wanted Dark Knight before and still kind of do, but if theres a community increase with chains of promathia i';ll get DRK, can ne1 name a site which will deliver the american version of chains of promathia to uk, the site i used before closed down or i simply cant find it!

Just to give you an Idea on quests in EQ2(friend of mine has been playing beta for a bit now) , he has Completed 87 quests to date and has about 30 quests he's currently working on....He's lvl 12. He's told me not only have the quests been fun for the most part , but ya get a good feeling of risk vs reward in most of em.
