This is the only public knowledge of it that can be found on their website that I could find. It was announced in one of their news articles.

    http://www.runesofmagic.com/en/news,id13,closed_beta_launch_september.html

They really haven't announced a specific day or a specific time for it so it is a rough timeframe.

Hope that helps give you an idea.

I still havent gotten a beta key yet.  Was kind of dissapointed untill WAR went into open beta, now im hopelessly addicted to it and am going to subscribe when the game releases.

Still kind of wanted to give this game a try, eventhough i know cash shop free games are only good for a few weeks.

There's always a reason for doing things in a certain way; I'm sure Frogster can hardly wait to open the game and let ppl start spending cash in the item mall, but that would only happen if the game runs smoothly; that's why you can't rush things and CB is a very serious and critical phase, one that could terminate the game even before officially starting. And in order to have a productive CB, sometimes it's better to have less yet dedicated testers, rather than a huge crowd of slackers and selfish ppl that only want to gain the upper hand instead of actually testing the game.

And one more thing: before crying for not getting in CB, it would be better to take a deep breath and have a sincerity moment with yourself - would you have actually tested the game (and report EVEYTHING that could be considered to be a bug), or just played the game and experiment for your own benefit? Really! Because the vast majority of the ppl that complain about these things are not planning of testing the game, just playing it for a while, until the next interesting MMO gets released.
