Jump To Lightspeed Pre-Order: EB Ripoff

TarkusTarkus Member UncommonPosts: 45
The Jump To Lightspeed Pre-Order states that "you will be guaranteed a spot in the beta." Well I pre ordered 3 weeks ago. I have four Electronic Botiques in my state. They all basicly say "Don't hold your breath, we probably won't get them" That really pisses me off with all the ads I see running for it. Did anyone who pre-ordered get into the beta? BTW, I just got into the beta anyway fron SOE, but I still feel ripped off.

Now that is SOE in a nutshell...

Here is a guy that preorders their horrible game in the hopes that he will recieve a beta slot. He does not get it.

I am not even currently subscribed to SWG (wich is a prerequisite for the JTL beta) and I recieved my beta invite 2 days ago. I of course cant play it and wouldnt even if I could seeing as I despise SOE and have written 50 + posts on these boards stating my disdain for their company.

Yet somehow I merited a beta slot and this poor misguided soul who has devoted his time and money to their evil empire did not.

my offer still stands I will swap my JTL beta for just about any other decent games beta. PM me.

eeeeeeek!! You cant say that in the forums!  image you may wanna reword that lol.

Also, I heard Matrix Online is having the same problems.  The DEVs said to those who went to the E3 convention and visited their booth (signed a form at the booth stating they were there along with their address and age) they would get a free  beta slot too. lol, none of them got any official word yet (as of last week).

I remember back in the day where people beta tested the game in order to flesh out any bugs...now, these games are holding contests, pre-order entices etc.  My opinion is this: now you'll have more of a potentially bugged program as many people get on beta so they can play it or ebay it.

Sadly, the days of truly testing a beta are slowly diminishing...like that of Macauly Caulkin's acting career image

I got 3 beta slots somehow, soe just keeps sending me emial after emai lwith new keys, JTL is not going to save SWG, i am a big fan and have played, SOE pulls tricks after tricks, and thye still haven't fixed the big conbat problems yet, and the JTL is very cheesy so far, only 2 new prof and 2 new charecters and the ability to fly a plane, whihc is very badly done if you ask me.

    Screw them.....

I dont need to be afraid of SOE. I never signed anything saying I wouldnt talk about their game or trade it to someone else. They sent me the beta invite completely unsolicited If they wanted us to test the game they shouldnt require us to have an open SWG account. Really one has little to do with the other when it comes down to it. They should just provide the full version plus the expansion to the testers Like AO did when they let me test Alien invasion.

I didnt want the JTL beta and I am really not surprised they are sending them out to people who are not subscribed to SWG. It seems like another shady SOE tactic to get people to reopen their subscriptions so they can test.
