    This is simply amazing.  Well done OP and prepared to get a lot of lol trolling from the haters who will still compare the graphics to atari and eq1 etc which basically translates into "I give up but im too stubborn to admit it"

    Thx imbant, I made the video primarily with these forums in mind since there is so much hating going on here, but there are a couple ppl on the offical forums that could use some love

    yea that music is way overused, its too awesome for it own good, but I can not think of a better one for the mood it creates

    They don't really hate DF. These are people who have repeatedly been disappointed by MMOs. Yet they still flock to the same ppl that disappoint them, and lash out at small game companies like this one, who they think will fool them once again.

    The biggest purveyor of disappointment are the large companies, not the small ones (read:failcom). The large ones can spend a ton of money to do complete mind jobs on ppl.

    When a small company comes that doesn't do the mind job and has a game that sounds good on it own merits, they find this urge inside to bash the shit out of it. This urge comes from all the bitterness acquired from past MMOs.

    Hating on the game or graphics or its community(for being so foolish) makes them feel like smart, knowledgeable MMo gamers that won't be fooled (or at least not any more) by some scammy MMO developer...but then turn around and flock to the next large company spending money left and right hyping up the next crap game (read:warhammer).

    The difference between DF and WH/AoC is that we are all excited by DF simply by reading what they intend to do. Not by some massive media blitz. All they have released are a couple fan-made quality videos, IRC chats and few small interviews here and there. Its a game we know can be good. Aoc (and Warhammer) were destined to be lame borefests even if they did EVERYTHING right.

    Now there is no problem being cautious or even pessimistically cautious. But some ppl here drip venom when speaking about df. DF for so long was their designated whipping boy that now it looks like it might be fun they don't know what to do with themselves.

    Nice video indeed. Allthough i am still not convinced that it will be THE next MMOs for PVP fun i am having high hopes. The problem is that you cannot tell if PVP is fun until you tried. The ideas of the DF dev team are good though and if they can pull off half of what they promis it could be better then anything out there allready.

Bah....that's what makes me laugh when it's released, everyone going 'OMG, haha trollz! Look what we got!' It's not the fact that you proved 'em right. It's the fact that you wasted so much time just when it dosen't matter....

    My biggest disappointments have come from small companies.  You know those games - Mourning, Dark and Light, WWII Online, Roma Victor, Pirates of the Burning Sea.  I dont expect much from the big guys, as they are shooting at the large demographic I am not part of.  I would count EvE as one of the "good" games done by a small team, even though I dont like the game enough to actually play it myself.

    So we will see where DF goes.  Another indie disappointment, holy grail, or perhaps just a game good enough for me to enjoy for awhile.

    Awesome video! music is great and the decapitation and the end was a must. i really hope this game comes out soon and gets a good response

    It's not anything bad about the video, or even the game.  It's the way people act.  I hear alot of talk on both sides of the fence.  Both sides are doing the same thing though.  Skeptic/Troll says something bad, that is directed at DF Fans/Supporters.  Then flip it around and you see Fans/Supporters doing same thing to Troll/Skeptics.

    It's alot like that old saying about not poking a sleeping bear.  One side pokes the others sleeping bear.  Then that side pokes the original sides sleeping bear.  As long as no one directs stuff at the other.  The sleeping bears will stay sleep, and as for the ones that wake up early.  Just ignore them.

    No real point to making threads with titles such as yours unless you are one of those people.  (Same goes for the other camp.  Titles like Graphics suck, etc etc)  That just can't resist chance to poke the sleeping bear.
