Played idRO(Indonesian RO) for about a year until it goes P2P. And I still play it until almost 1 more year then I just got bored.
Considering it's the first "good" MMO in Indonesia, of course I love it. Until bots starts showing up and most toons I saw on the road just teleports when I say Hi. Everything goes downward from there.
Most people play this game for the GvG and perhaps for the community(although I suppose different RO servers have different community). Other than that...I can't say much.
Leveling gets boring after a while. The advanced jobs are cool, but it gets old fast.
The players in there are not that friendly, whenever I try to say hi to someone they either teleport away or ignore me. Guess they don't want to chat.
have you played on iRO. I am not sure if the bots are back. Those are the ones that teleport away. They are adding a new party feature that has 2 very strange bugs. 1st you can target yourself in pvp and kill yourself. 2nd you can heal and buff people halfway across the map. Makes it easy for a priests and sage types to setup camp in the middle and just sit around the entire time.

i play RO since 2004 and i like it because it's cute, fun and i can't get bored of it (: i usually prefer soloing but the people i met were all kind and helpful. it's easy to understand how to play and easy to be a good player. there are many different weapons and skills to get, it's amazing

Played it for quite some time and I have to say that it's still one of the best eastern MMOs around.

I've played RO for about.. 4 years now (on and off) and i think it's an amazing game. Granted I play on private servers which are free, it's a great game. Will run on any pos computer, and will always keep you entertained.
Yes, it is a grindfest, and it will take a fair amount of time to be a pvp contender, but once you're high lvl it's a great game.
PvP is fun in this game, there are pvp arenas you can warp too, and the main PvP attraction in RO, is The War of Emperium. In each of the main towns, there are 4-5 castles, and each can be taken and held by clans. At set times during the week, every server differs, The War of Emperium is enabled, and clans who own castles, defend them from all the other clans / mercs who enter and attack. To take a castle you must make it to the final room (The Emperium room) and attack the emperium which has a certain amount of HP. To the clan who deals the last hit to the emp, gets the castle.
Fun game, IF you don't mind grinding :P
I think Ragnarok is a great MMORPG; if only the year was 1998. Honestly, I think it stands no chance against WoW, Final Fantasy, and WAR. Plus the battle system isn't that innovative given the possibility of it ending up like a hack-and-slash fest. If you want strategy, try playing Atlantica Online instead.
