You Can No Longer Login Without Retail Key (US Only)

This only applies to the US/Non GOA version of the game. GOA and EU have a longer grace period.
Mythic actually went through with cutting off the grace period this morning at 7am after their site had clearly stated it would last until the 22nd. Anyone who ordered from Amazon most likely won't receive their key/game until early next week and will be locked out all weekend. They did not announce this until the orders were already shipped yesterday and the day before.
This is horribly bad business and I am really dissapointed in Mythic. I expect this kind of crap from EA or Funcom, but it is uncharacteristic of Mythic.
If you need to play this weekend, all online shippers that I know of will give a full refund if you refuse the shipment when it arrives. You can then go out today and pick up a retail copy to use, but because of this Mythic's first weekend sales will be innacurate. The lady at Amazon.com said she had already talked to many people today regarding this.
Heads up! There are reports that Amazon.com customers will be able to get trial codes to extend the grace period. Someone at warhammeralliance.com said they will be available after 11am today so if you are with Amazon.com call and try to get a trial code. I haven't confirmed this, but it seems legit because a number of people are talking about it.

I don’t expect everyone to agree but I’ve never intentionally made a decision to hurt the community and/or our players and I don’t intend to start now. Of course, all characters are still intact and no billing of any credit card has taken place (it couldn’t, the account still has free time on it) since the accounts were simply deactivated not wiped. We have been assured by all the brick-and-mortar retailers that they got their shipments in the stores already so if you needed to go to a store to pick up your game, the units are in stock everywhere. We will be monitoring the situation closely over the next twenty-four hours of course.
As I’ve said countless times, we will do the best we can in any situation to make it right and I hope you agree with have done so again. I thank the community for its support, especially for this rather thorny problem.

I have my key but tend to agree with you. There was supposed to be a 'reasonable amount of time' to get the keys.
I can see this pissing off a LOT of people. Should have waited at least through the weekend.
Dam that suck's , i was just about to login too . I wont be able to get mine to early next week also , so looks like no WaR all weekend heh .

I ordered off amazon got 2 games one got here on the 16th the other on the 17th
it states on the war-europe site 7 days for pre-order, 14 days for collectors edition.
I have the CE, anyone here reporting this issue buy the CE edition as I have not received my box and this would really really annoy me!!

I ordered from Amazon and have also, already received my game.
I got my pre-order off of Direct2drive, and they haven't sent the retail-key's out yet. I bought another copy after launch, for my girlfriend, and that one had a key, but I haven't gotten my other key yet.... last time I use them

I had the same problem but looked on the sub page and it showed I registered the key. So you might check that even if it gives you a page error.
We cant register the game now?
I got my key off Direct 2 Drive. Just go to the my account link on there and click my games. Then click the download link and the retail key will be sent to your email.
Updated with information. You can refuse your shipment and pick up a local retail copy if you are in this boat.
I am glad you guys already got yours, and I already had a key as well, but this affects a ton of people. I am having a launch weekend lan party and over half of the people coming have been locked out. It took me forever just to talk them into refusing the shipment and picking up a local copy. They aren't cheap or anything, but it's the principal.
This is a bait and switch. You can't say that it will last until the 22nd, then once all of the pre order shipments have been made with that in mind change it to the 19th at 7am before a weekend where many people would not receive the shipment and be locked out. This is a despisable business tactic, and there is no excuse or reason that can justify it.
This is incredible. The ones that pre-ordered their copies are going to lose their headstart advantage because they haven't received their games yet. While someone that goes to the store today and buys a copy can play immediately? They should have at least left it open through the weekend since it released on a Thursday. One day is in no way a "reasonable grace period".
Contact Mythic and ask them to open the servers through the weekend. If enough people do maybe they will.

i cant figure out why people would preorder through the mail. if you're all geeked up about playing from day 1, why take the chance? there's a gamestop and best buy at every corner of america it seems. just preorder from them and pick it up. no mail, no waiting.................. just playing.
Part of the reason I got the CE was for free 14 days while I wait for the mail. I'm stuck on a remote island in the Pacific working for Uncle Sam, local pickup just isn't an option. This blows.

When they say it will last until the 22nd and I arrange shipping to arrive on the 22nd to save $25.00 because the release was so close to the weekend, and then change it to the 19th AFTER the shipments have been made is not ok.
Same here. Had zero problems with Amazon. I pre-ordered it on Sunday the 14th around 8:30AM EST, and almost exactly 48 hours later on Tuesday morning, received my headstart key (about 2 hours after SE headstart launch, good timing).
Surprisingly enough, I then actually received the game on Wednesday at my front door (ordered it with overnight shipping). Good job Amazon!

I did the same thing. I had it set as Overnight and would have had it today. But I changed it according to how long the grace period was supposed to last and once it's shipped I find this out. This sucks.

Well, you do admit, your attempts at being cheap have come back to bite you. But I do agree that Mythic is wrong to change the grace period that everyone was working to, but my motto is, never by mail order, I always pick it up at the store to ensure delivery.

I was hoping this might be the case but no.
Couple things I noticed.
1. When I first entered my key to be registered, it gave me somewhere along the way, a place to enter credit card info.
2. When entering my CC, though I am a US player, it gave me 'Province' instead state.
3. When I tried to re-enter my reg key info, the CC info page no longer came up.
4. I went to 'Billing' on the account page and now it shows 'State' versus 'Province'.
Little things? Maybe. But with databes, especially dynamic ones used for registration, even small mixups can make very big borks.

Call them after 11am today, or now and ask about Warhammer Online Trial Codes. Supposedly they will have codes to give out to extend the grace period. Not 100% sure, but hopefully it will work out.
