what do you not liek about it? whats wrong with it?
Such as?
My brand new bloggity blog.
err, yes, what imrovements? could you be more specific please? If it is just graphics, then it AoC or lotro perhaps.
I do agree that wow is solid, which one should expect after somewhat 4 years nearly.
again, specifics please, unless you like to get trolled, because that is what usually happens with such comments.....
<Mod edit> , WaR has very little it needs to fix it is a very solid game at launch , which wow was not , its launch was much worse than WaR's. Dont try to compare 4 year old wow to WaR, compare wow at launch to war at launch and WaR blow's wow away , compared to when wow launched and now WaR is still better .
Played WoW, hated it. It's just a solo game, and MMORPGs aren't much fun to solo.
Played WAR, and it's fun. People play together, 'cause it's RvR.
My guess is you're one of those people that likes to play MMORPGs solo. Boring to me, but different people like different things.
i'm not trolling.the whole game play has such a stiff contrived feel to it,not organic and intuitve like wow.that's one issue.as far as the graphics are concerned, the landscape looks awesome but i'm diappointed in the characters, too much like lotr but more stiff and one dimensional.the chat channel is a small issue but an issue for some.there are some other issues and i'm not going to go into a long winded bitch about it.i'm going to give it a chance and i hope it proves to be a good game but right now it is lacking in certain area's.is there anyone here that thinks it is all it's been hyped up to be over the last few years?this was supposed to be the wow killer...no way.thank you
War's a great game but theres still work to be done, I don't disagreee. I've yet to ever see an mmo at launch that didn't need some work, or for that matter, a game that didn't get improved after launch. We've all seen it over and over again, a game gets released, and then continually gets fixed-improved-tweaked as time goes on.
So why in the world would it be news that WAR could use some of those above-mentioned tweaks and fixes? For this early in the game it's pretty solid, much moreso than most mmo's at launch, so umm.. what's your point?
This game was not hyped up anywhere close to what AoC was and this game actually works even in the beta so hype is not an issue here. They do need to add things and upgrade hence the MMO title, always changing and adding.
For a release client this is by far the best and most stable release we have had from a company recently and the game is actually fun to play.
Anyone who says that a particular game is supposed to be a WoW killer clearly doesn't understand why WoW is popular.
There is no WoW killer except for time. WoW is "something else", a whole other entity.
It's just so huge and has such a large gravitational pull that it has the propensity to affect other games that people have become bitter and the "fabled wow killer' just has to exist in order for them to get on with their lives.

WoW is organic and intuitive? Lol, maybe after you've played it a few years and installed half a dozen mods from curse. Show me one person who hasn't felt the need after playing wow for a while to install 3rd party mods to improve the game. WoW is not intuitive or organic, it's just the "norm" that people are comfortable with cause it's been around for so long.
Not bashing WoW here, blizz did a great job in crafting the game, they stole all the right ideas from other games and added their own batch of innovations as well. Kudos, but organic and intuitive, it is not.
As for being a WoW killer, who said it was? WoW will be around for a long time if for no other reason that alot of people are so "invested" into it. All that time, effort, and money spent buying gold to get your toons to the point you want them binds people to the game. That "investment" guarantees WoW will have a following for a long time to come. People fear change. There's an analogy that would work great here about a freezing day and a warm pile of feces but its too long to type out. Anyone who knows the one will see what I mean.
If theres one thing I kinda have a prob with in this game is the combat...it doesnt feel right. Like i know they tried to copy WoWs combat fluidness but it isnt there yet...its def something that will be fixed tho. Everything else so far has been insanely good, havent had so much fun ina MMO in a long time. thanks Mythic

Actually, WoWs combat was a modified version of DAoC's combat, which Mythic was the dev of. WAR's combat is Mythics modified version of their original DAoC combat system, so yah, it'll feel kinda like WoW but it's not really based off WoW, WoW and WAR are just based off the same system, DAoC. Natural for them to feel similiar. But it does need a lil work, which I'm sure it will get.
The missing classes is a big turnoff. Mythic needs to address this and quickly. They need to take a look at some of the shortcuts they took to get the game out the door (female Marauders, anyone?) and go back and flesh them out a bit. It's not always about the gameplay. Aesthetics matter. No one will continue to play a character they hate.

They just need a decent tank for order that isn't 3 feet tall and everything will be fine.
Actually, WAR and WOW's launches are remarkably similar. Queues, lag, instances crashes (scenarios)....
All in all, this augurs pretty well for WAR.
They just need a decent tank for order that isn't 3 feet tall and everything will be fine.
This is true, but the Dark Elf tank is needed too. A lot of the Dark Elf players move to the Chaos / Empire pairing, which adds to the imbalance there and means Order overwhelmingly rules the roost in the Elf zones because there aren't the numbers there to challenge them.

Honestly, there is much work to be done. I have been around mmo's pretty much since the dawn. I have also been around many many many mmo betas. All in all I feel that WAR had a great launch. However, there are many many many subtlties in the game where you can tell, if you have a trained eye, that Mythic pushed and pushed to get WAR "out the door".
Some stuff such as the "renown skills" are buged. Inccorrect weapon/armor models/names; as well as duplicates of everything used as placeholders until they can get the new stuff made and patched in. Mythic took a lot of shortcuts... that much is obvious to those of us with a trained eye.
Now, one thing I will admit. WAR is a hell of a lot of fun and I'm rather enjoying my stent with it. They shouldn't have pushed WAR out the door quite so soon.. but they did and it's done. Now they just need to fix what needs fixing and finish what all needs finished.

If you think of it in terms of pairings, yah, the dark elfs need a tank as well. However if you look at the overall rvr balance, destruction has ass loads of people playing tanks, order only has a few. There are cool looking tanks that people want to play on destruction.
However, one of orders tanks is 3 feet tall, the other wears a dress, so not too many people play them. If they introduced two more classes into the game it should be the order knight they pulled (they need the tanks) and the destruction...whatever. The two options are a melee-dps for greenskins, which they lack, or a tank for the delfs, which they lack, neither of which is really lacking a playable version of in the overall rvr scheme of things.
You might be the first person that thinks WOW isn't intutive. How low can they go=)
By far a smoother release than WoW. No 14 hour patches here...
All newly released games needs improvements, Wow did so at release too. You should wait 6 months before buying any MMO if you can't live weith some buggs and a shortage of content.
Just look on any game there is at launch and 6 months after, the improvements are big with more content, smother gameplay and so on. Perfection takes time. I'm not saying WAR sucks but it will be a lot better in 6 months together with every other MMO after launch, MMOs are a living thing and changes.
Or it just can be that this is really not a game for you, taste differs, nothing wrong with that. If you feel the same in a month or so you should consider finding another game...
The game will improve ofc. Now its in perfectly good contidion to go online and play. NOw.. how many MMOs have been able to do that in the last 5 years ?
There are no gamebreaking issues with it atm. All quests are working fine for me and even tho some mobs are not always running straight or one or two minor issues with movement in certain areas.
Go play WAR abit more - if you dont like it then there is no need to bitch here. Alot of ppl ike it and its working out of the box. Rest is just matter of opinion.
Your a very bad troll , WaR has very little it needs to fix it is a very solid game at launch , which wow was not , its launch was much worse than WaR's. of course you compare WAR to current day WoW, that's the direct competitor. To compare it against the launch version of WoW is about as valid as using the model T as the main comparison for new cars.
It's automatically assumed by most that something is intuitive when most the people playing it know how to play it. However, the actual definition of Intuitive is: "readily learned or understood". An oddly enough, for the general population, any mmo, including wow, war and all the rest are nowhere near intuitive, and calling it as such as just retarded. Playing MMO's is a learned thing, just watch anybody trying to teach their gf, sister, mother, father, friend or cousin who's new to the genre how to pay WoW, then come back and tell me it's Intuitive.
