I'm going to buy a new AGP card for my old computer, this will be the last upgrade before buying a new comp. So I was looking to buy a decent card that will run WAR nicely, under $150. Currently I am using a 6800 GT Ultra and getting fairly bad lag. Here is my other system stats.
AMD 64 3200+ 2.0 Ghz
2048 Gigs Ram
Nvidia 6800 GT Ultra
250 GB Hard Drive
Was thinking about a 7600 GT but heard good and bad reviews. Never used ATI and haven't looked much into their older cards. Thanks for any help.

Lol. I just had the same dilemma. I had an old P4 system with AGP. My card went and I bought a new ATI X1650 Pro just before PCI-e was taking over. As soon as I got the card, my mobo went, but I was stuck with a brand new AGP card. So I bought an AMD 64 3800+ with an Abit AV8 for the AGP.
Recently I realized I need a new card, but was still stuck with my AGP. I want to upgrade the card, but am going to eventually need to upgrade the CPU/mobo. I was going to get a Sapphire HD 3850 because it's basically the best card for AGP ($140 @ Newegg.com).
But I gave in and decided just to overhaul the rig and upgrade to a Core 2 Quad and a 9800GTX. I'm actually waiting for my stuff to be delivered at this very moment.
BTW, some may or may not agree...but typically, AMD+ATI or Intel+Nvidia.
Best AGP card on the market is an HD3650. There is the HD3850, but you won't get the performance advantage off an AGP bus. There really isn't a competing nVidia card in AGPs.
Also your graphics card will always perform better on an AMD system. This is without regarding the performance advantage Core2 has over Phenom, but the actual platform and chipsets. On an Intel System with an intel chipset, AMD Graphics card also has a performance advantage over nVidia.
