What's wrong with that? At least they are having a fun event. What other games hit you with a spur of the moment fun event?

And I don't really think WoW has to answer to Warhammer's launch. The game is successful on its own right, whether people like it or not.

Heck, in Lineage 2 people have been begging for an event for months and months and months. And what did  they get? An old recycled event.

Oh puhleeeease.  These kind of comments are getting so old.

Do you know...that there are quite a LOT of us that pre-ordered WAR and after the preview, OB plus, and OB, aren't even PLAYING it??  As a matter fact....I was playing WoW this morning with WAR all installed and waiting.  And there it still sits....waiting on my desktop.

Oh yeah, and let me also mention that WoW still has a massive subscriber base that "zomg" WAR has barely touched.  Guaranteed, like with every new game launch....some people that are playing WAR right this moment, will only play for the month.  I spent 50 bucks on that game....I WANTED to love it.  I will probably fiddle around with it again.  But it has absolutely no draw for me.  I didn't wake up this morning with a burning desire to play it.  And I'm not the only one.  People have DIFFERENT TASTES in games.

So why don't you WAR-loving WoW haters post this stuff somewhere else?

I have tried, in all of my own comments on these boards, to be MORE than fair in my assessment of Warhammer.  I've repeatedly said, "Meh, it's a good game, it's just not for me."  I've gone in to GREAT detail ABOUT the things that are good.  But the WoW Haters just can't seem to offer the same.  They have to constantly bash, bash, bash.

    It's getting extremely OLD.

If the game is sooooooo good, how do you all have time to come here and repeatedly make negative comments about WoW?  Go play that wonderful game!!!!

Yes, but don't you KNOW that Blizzard created that YEARS ago, with the sole intent of using it as a diversion today, so that in the future, when Mythic launched WAR, they would be able to come up with a small random event for fun that would distract everyone from the epic success that Mythic is experiencing?

Those crafty manipulative Blizzard devs.  What will they come up with next?

As seen above, it's too easy (and too common) to troll on these forums. ;-)

Edit: to add something on the actuall topic, I think it's cool that games have these events linked to real world days and events. It's familiar, it's fun, and it's a nice break from the levelling, PVP or raiding.

WoW is being filled with loads of events, always a good thing, makes a lot of variation compared to all the other mmorpgs, whose pretty much stock on that one thing....

WoW was made to be "Fun", yet as it also had to follow the mmo lines it had to obviously have the grind, because there sure ain't no mmo without it, they all got it in different forms, WoW just actually got a lot of funny features which are fun, not just "fun", as in "hohohooo, i just killed these 3 newbs, i r rock" or whatever.

Funny stuff that's what WoW got.
