Final Fantasy Tactics Online?

A new projet has been started to turn final fantasy tactics into a MMORPG.

    While it would seriously rock to see FFTO come to fruitition, I would place money on that fact that it won't. Besides do we really just want to see it as a Ragnarock mod anyway? Not to mention Squenix is overprotective of it's intellectual property and if this even gains a modicum of popularity they'll find their project go down faster than my ex-girlfriend on promnight. Even things as well-done and as great as the ChronoTrigger ressurection project, which didn't threaten them at all mind you, have seen them get the proverbial smack down.

    Probably will be stopped... for the reasons Neveras stated

    It would have been nice if Square had made their own FFTactics online game, but it seems like Fantasy Earth, which combines RTS and RPG will be the closest we'll get.

    there is already a game out called Tactics Core Online, you can find it at www.arcadepod.com, it's a little different then Final Fantasy Tactics

    Final Fantasy Tactics would be great assuming you could have large scale battles such as 20 people vs 20 people each with 5-10 soldiers. I think the idea is good but its areally up to squaresoft if they want to make it good.

    There are actually some similar-type projects being worked on over at my site.

    The first is a "pen and paper" version of FFT: http://www.fftrealm.com/content/fftinto.shtml

    The second is more of what you would expect, full 3d-isometric view of the battle, which multiple users can play at the same time: http://www.fftrealm.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5403

    My buddy Mike Smith also has a "large scale combat" rulebook written as well. I apologize for the last post/bump.
