azeroth is tiny... like... really small... they just put up mountains everywhere to make logical paths impossible making wow seem much bigger.
This game has got decent size, but i wouldn't call it huge; medium at best.. It's still got a lot of terrain blocking to make the world seem much bigger than it is.
It is really hard to measure the physical size of a mmorpg land mass. You have no idea how fast the guy is running or even if there is a point in the whole exercise.
In case of warhammer is even worse because the world is not represented in his whole entirety, but instead you just got "slices" of it here and there.
The original Azeroth continents were roughly 40 square miles each. Consider Manhattan is about 20 square miles. So about 4 manhattans in a nice square. This does not count islands nor Outlands.
Then again, it would be a better idea to measure a mmorpg by CONTENT than by physical size as having kilometers of empty land does not seem that great of an idea to me.
