Talisman Crafting?

Where do I get fragments from, what items are classed as fragments?  I guess I'm doing it wrong as I can't find anything thats a fragment. I have the container and other stuff in my backpack... just missing the essential part!!

    Fragments are rare drops from salvaging green or better equipment.

    fragments ain't rare at all. Get a magic item, green or better that is armor or weapon (ie, belts and jewelry does not work), and use salvage on it.

    A pop up will come out asking you which part of the object bonus you want to save (in case it has more than one) and you will perform the operation. if you succeed you will get a fragment and some magic essences, if you fail, you will get only the essences. That's it.

    It is way harder to rise than Apothecary, yes and PQs for some reason do not give ANYTHING for talisman making.... and you need 30 gazzilions different gathering skills just to get everything you need (plus an apothecary)... but you can do with the vendor crap for some time.

    I've actually found it incredibly hard to get lower level fragments when I was in tier 1 areas. The magic items usually gave me essences but no fragments. This is causing me a problem now where I have no low level fragments to raise my skill and I'm only getting tier 2 equipment to salvage.

    Perhaps a trip to the AH or a lower level tier might help.

    my talisman skill is a lofty '10' or so.

    my salvaging is a fair bit higher but im in Teir 2 now (lvl 13 DoK) and getting the 'you dont have sufficient skill to salvage this; messages.

    I guess the only option for now is to repeat run the low lvl PQs and salvage the green gear from the loot bags.

    Can anyone tell me if you get 'chickened' for healing lowbies in PVE on a 'Core' server? the way opposing factions do in RVR if they try to go ganking?

    if you do then this will make things problematic.
