Well ive played this game for about 2-3 days and by far ive been just going into dungeons and finding stuff/completing quests, so my question is that is that all you do in this game or is it that im just a too low lvl for anything?

The game is built around questing. There are explorer zones (there is one in the Harbor area, just forget the name at the moment). Later there are raids, but the game is built around the premiose of being an adventurer and completing quests/dungeons. It is very focused on the combat & puzzle solving aspects of adventuring more so than any game I have played or heard of.
I have to ask...How is this different from any other post-WoW game?
Im not trying to be a smartass here, but I really like to know. Find stuff - get quest - complete quest, summand up almost every newish game on the market. Atleast DDO does it well!
eq, uo, shadowbane, daoc, ryzom all werent the same like this and ddo is different, its pretty much the same kinda experience over and over again...if you like it play it.Im not saying its a bad game its just that its not something i can spend hours and hours a day playing, but i will play it when im bored
Hehe Those are all great games and I agree are rather different, but are they "newish"? No.
I have to admit that I dont play DDO full time myself. I only play DDO once or twice a week with my friends as a RPG session, and we have done it since launch. Needless to say, we are having a blast!
Well you asked for pre wow so i only listed the old games, eve, lotro, GW and many others are new and still have something nice but yeahh i guess ill stick to the casual play part
He said "post-WoW" which means AFTER, not before.
As Aethios pointed out, I think you missread me alittle hehe...

Actually most other MMOs pre and post WOW are not like DDO. DDO does questing and dungeon crawling incredibly well, but as an MMO it is lacking in size, content and things to do besides dungeon crawling.
I think you and your friends have the perfect approach to DDO, a couple times a week as a group and not for too long.

Oh sorry yeahh i misread it but i guess i gave you the new ones aswell.
