doesn't it concern anyone that half if not more of the comments and rating on the hype meter are done by accounts created the same day as the rating. It is stupid to me that the admins to this site have not caught on yet. A quick look through those accounts will show they post enough to get the required points to rate a game then give darkfall glowing rating and never post again.
This is getting silly. They even go as far as bashing every other hyped title to drive down their ratings to push darkfall to the top.

its stupid to think that people voting for darkfall are the only ones doing it.
Just goes to show what community Darkfall will have... doesnt it?
it dos not show anything
I'd have to agree action speak louder then words.
No offence but the Hype-meter here is a joke... always has been a joke.... always will be a joke. No one that has been here for a long time takes it seriously anymore as this type of thing has happened many times in the past. Believe me when I say that it's nothing to get worked up over.

It's a bannable offense to create alternate accounts. However, the admin and staff here isn't going to take the time and run IP checks on everyone unless you email community@mmorpg.com if you suspect two or three accounts being the same person.
So far, I've had about 8 accounts here nuked by provided the usernames. If the IP matches, they ban em...but you need to inform them what usernames are the same. Its hard but they usually give themselves away pretty easily.
In terms of the hype meter, just ignore it. Only 5% of the population of mmorg.com takes those things seriously. The hype meter only surfaced to attention after many people from forumfall came here and creating numerous alts to lower other game ratings to boost theirs up. I would just ignore it. Not worth getting upset over.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
Sort games by name, disregard they hpe meter/ratings at all costs.
Has anyone ever wonderd how a game (usually a p2p) goes from a 6-7 in open beta to a 10.00 the day they change the game to final release here? Al it shows me is that you slip mmorpg.com some cash or advertise heavily, they give you like 5k free 10.0 votes.
Usualy the community rates them down afterward, but 90% of people who rate down a game are doing it to rate up another game.
If you pay any attention to the user ratings your a chump.
if mmorpg.com was serious about this stuff, they would not allow users to rate a game and just give their own, paid for ratings.
It goes further than that though, if a game doesnt have about 15,000 negative posts abou it, then its a really good game. I have caught people posting (by clicking on their profile) who work for the game they are rating, writing an advertisement "review" and troll posting on another game. Its rampant, anyone who doent know whats going on here and on other sites, will come looking for a mmo to try and end up sterring clear froma gaming industry whos players hate every game that comes out.
That being siad, im a warhammer fan right now but i wish DF the best of luck, they are diffrent games and the more good games out there the better for all of us. Also im going to boycott the hypemeters and ratings from now on.
Remember that time that the online poll on MMORPG meant that you could only play the #1 hyped game?
Remember that time that you tried to use the "HYPEmeter" as an anti-darkfall platform?

I hyped it once and went back here. And ya, that was it. There are a lot of "HAHA I GAVE DF A 1!! I'M LIKE TOTALY A SCEPTIC NOW" people so that kinda balances out the fanbois.
But actually the hype meter doesn't mean shit.
