House pets in EQ2

iceseraphiceseraph Member Posts: 202

Interesting Q & A released today regarding housing aspects in EQ2. Apparently one of the housing items is pets!

According to the article, "Pets can do tricks and change their behavior based on how you interact with them. Neglect your pet and it may develop some bad habits that you'll have to work to correct." Lol..sound like Neopets...could be fun.

Other interesting topics are covered as well...

I'd hate to see what would happen if you neglect him.

This sounds like fun, but if my pet destroyed something that I had put a lot of effort into acquiring I might have to have it put to sleep.  I wonder how much attention a virtual pet requires to be well behaved.  Hours of fetch and dragon walking would not be the way I would want to spend my EQ time, but I can see the need to feed a pet and have some interaction if you desire to be a pet owner.  Has anyone played another game with pets that required interaction with the pet to avoid destructive behaviors?

This must have been one of the "important things" Moorgard was talking about working on before they would have time to even consider possibly implementing pvp at some time in the far distant future.

Don't know about having a pet dog.

However, he did say "pets". So I'm wondering... what other pets could you get and how would you get them? I remember in EQLive there are "animal" type NPCs. I think they would limit the pets to animals only. Maybe one will be able to set up traps and then just bring them home... which also makes me wonder if they will allow more than one pet!

I can't wait to see how all this works in-game.

cancel the order all together and purchase the COllector's Edition elsewhere. There are laws for returning, and since you don;t have the game yet, you can. Although they will prolly try and tell you ya can't.
