In short, I took care of my own business and didn't expect anyone else to babysit me. I didn't need a grace period and didn't miss a day of play, though if I had I wouldn't be screaming about like some I've seen.  Should I get bonus play time for doing things the right way?
Anyone who ordered during the last week before release should have expected delays, especially if you were one of those who jumped on the newly-available Collectors' Editions that were nothing more than the result of people playing the Head Start and cancelling their pre-orders, I'm also certain that some got a pre-order and expected to milk a grace period for every last second. More free play time. If your account got frozen, it's no one's fault but yours. EA, Mythic, the retailers, and the economy are not responsible for your lack of planning.

I agree that this grace period fiasco is crap.  It is the one point where I think Mythic really dropped the ball.  With how good they have been with communication and understanding what the communities problems with the game are, I am surprised they pulled this crap.

At least they extended it for gogamer, amazon.com, and EAstore which alleviated a lot of it.  Still, the grace period should have been until the 22nd period no matter what losses they had to deal with.  No matter what retailers whined and moaned like WoW trolls *cough*fingis*cough*bodypass*cough*coffee*cough they should have stuck to their word.

I will always remember Mythic for pulling this crap.  No matter how much they do right one thing like this tarnishes their rep.

A retailer is just an outlet for Mythic to get their game out to customers otherwise may not be reached so yes Mythic can and should compensate for every retail blunder. Now considering the damage they can take for not taking care of a paying customer can get severe with the internet these days. Look at AOC and just look at whats happened to that game from the bad advertisement it has gotten for not taking care of its customers and thx to these forums I did not make the mistake and waste my money on it.

Haha yeah, if it wasn't warhammer, I wouldn't buy it. I hate EA. They lost my business long ago.

Your post is kind of silly. They lost your buisness a long time ago,but since its warhammer ill give them my buisness again lol.

One thing I'll never understand, and something we'll probably never get an answer to, is why it was said the grace period went to the 22nd even into the headstart days, then a day later it was changed to the 19th, then back to the 22nd for 3 or 4 retailers. Then Mark posts his blog entry feigning sympathy and acting like they are bending over backwards to accomodate people by moving up to the 22nd, where it was 2 or 3 days earlier.

People are anti conspiracty thearoy and everything but I honestly feel like it was to get everyone who would be shut out for the weekend to go out and buy another copy from a retailer.  I mean the game shipped wed. from most retailers with anything but rushed delivery most wouldn't get it until Monday or later so closing it Friday means many may go buy it again that weekend.

Honestly I don't know.  Mark officially said it was because of retailers complaining but this doesn't make sense as it screwed online retailers.  I know at least 10 people that sent their online version back and picked up a local copy.

I wasn't going to say it, but since you did

Reminds me of a girlfriend from highschool. Her little sister was majorly into the boybands at the time in the late 90s. I was in their house and saw a stack of about a dozen of the same cds, all still in the plastic wrap. I asked what that was about, and the girl blows a month's worth of allowance on the cds when they are released, and then takes all but one of them back a week later. She says that the charts count sales, but don't count returns, and all of her circle of friends were doing the same thing.

This is selfish. You got your head start but you don't have the full game yet. How are they supposed to be responsible? Grow up.

Ahaha it reminds me of trying to call my dad on a night after American Idol.  My sister had the phone lines tied up for 5 hours straight.  She went to bed at 3am and she is 13 with school at 7am the next morning.

JonnyBigBoss you still do not understand.  Whats the point of a headstart if we can't play until we get our CD keys.  Mine isn't suppose to arrive until the 26th.  Thats four days im missing out from warhammer.  Pretty much destroys the point of the headstart.

Don't worry, some people just don't get it. We're talking about the Collector's Edition here, not any edition.

Also, the post is about Mythic changing the grace period from the 22nd to the 19th, and then back to the 22nd, but only for a portion of those who pre-ordered the CE, not all.

Those that are flaming us seem to suggest they're ok with companies selling them products based on certain, advertised criteria and then changing the deal after the customer has paid for it.

Car dealer: "This car has 4 wheels!"

Customer: "Word. I'll take it." (Hands over teh monies)

Car dealer: "Haha, just kidding, it only has 2 wheels!"

Customer: "Thats cool. I like being treated poorly by companies for I'm a lowly fan boy. Companies know they can walk all over me! I also like Bestbuy, Eminem, Clay Aiken and EA's secuROM copy protection!"

Yeah, I used to hate the game because of NGE as much as anyone, but I've been playing the game since Feb. 2008 and have honestly had a good time. If you hate the game, fantastic, move along. Its all been said before and your continuous griefing just makes you look like a sad individual with nothing better to do.

Did you get up off the couch and go to the store and look? It was there at LEAST 1 day before it was supposed to be there at my Best Buy. I didn't sit and wait for an email, I went on their site, checked their stock, and got it a day early, and I think I could have 2 days early. Then they extended the grace period for you anyways. It sounds to me like you were just plain lazy and then when it bit you, you complained. But I could be wrong...

Speaking of lazy... take the time to read my post carefully if you're going to bother responding.

I'm talking about the Collector's Edition, not the standard edition.

I also said they did not extend the grace period for bestbuy (or 3 other retailers) customers.

No way around it, and no excuse.  This was a horribly rude move.  It was a big kick in the face to many customers when Mythic is a service provider.  Someone over there needs to go back to business school and take 15 credit hours on customer service.  Maybe then they will realize how big of douche bags they were with this decision.

I'm not mad at Mythic. I'm mad at Amazon for waiting until the 22nd to ship my CE when the game was released on the 18th. I ordered my CE on May 5th, so there is no excuse for waiting 5 days to ship the game. Even with the free shipping option, I should have received the game by now. Not everyone lives with their parents and can afford overnight shipping. I got bills, yo.
