How can AOC afford to keep the ads on this forum going?
Just wondering because theyre stocks went through the floor and I don't even know how the can afford that video camera they just shot that "EXPANSION" video with.
I thought I saw that fat guy with the wierd accent thing on the corner with a sign that said

Stock prices are not an accurate reflection of a firms working capitol, ads on this site are relatively inexpensive compared to other advertising mediums, and I guess Funcom's doing better than most people suspect.

Poor games need to be advertised as something diffrent than they actually are. Simply because the actual players are not spreading the good news how good the game is.
Alot of ads also give false impression of finanancial status and fools investors into buying into what they think is a strong company. I think we all know the real state of FUncom atm tho.
Publicity contracts being signed for 6 months ?

OP, before looking it up on wiki, do you have the slightest clue of what a stock price means? I ask because your post makes it glaringly obvious that you don't have a clue.

Its pretty cheap, they are paying by pageviews.. Like 10 000 page views is maybe 10 euros if they got the price down low, and that is pretty small numbers.
Atleast that is what I've read.

MMO games pay up front. So if AOC is loosing money, they still gave the monies to mmorpg.com to host em. They dont pay week to week. They pay it upfront.

If free to play MMOs can advertise here every day, why not AoC?
when SWG can advertise still, and pay their peons to claim it's a uber game, with only 10.000-30.000 subscribers, AoC definitively can afford to pay advertising with it's 100.000++ subscribers :P
And as far as F2P games advertising... You have no idea how many suckers out there are actually willing to pay top $'s to get ahead or get the good loot.
Todays MMO population has been infiltrated by the same type of people that in the 80's believed that white porches, white immitated silk suits and don johnson sunglasses would impress all the girls to go to bed with em..... Ya know, the slick morons that no one wanted around
F2P earns more money than P2P. I have seen The Perfect World ads everywhere on various game sites such as gamespot.
While on the subject of Funcom Stock price vs. Funcom Working capital...
Does anyone have a link to the Quarterly Figures from the last Funcom financials?
I ask because there is a Pool going on how long Funcom has left - and I want to see their assets before I make a prediction.
And where is Lit? The next quarterly report is due soon - and we need him to post his wisdom (for giggles mainly).

Because you don't need to believe everything you read on forums, and perhaps the company is in less trouble as many seem to pretend it is, since most on this forum don't have true inside informations most people simply speculate and proof of this is seeing how foolish people are talking about their stocks which shows many seem clueless in understanding them.
Dont think adds on this site cost a load of money, but it aint helping them much anyway hehe:P

In between WoW few months AoC few months and some f2p also all very short few weeks.
Remember, these are the guys who caused Anarchy Online to survive for nearly seven years thus far, even after that disaster of a launch. I wouldn't bet on squat in terms of their longevity if I were you.
