So I am beyond pissed off right now. I love the RVR stuff in this game and the way the world PVP is setup is absolutely awesome! BUUUTTTT... the rewards and ease of scenarios are just way too great to pass up and NO ONE DOES WORLD PVP!
I am so pissed off that I cannot find a good fight in world pvp.. if I ever do meet anyone of the other faction they're like 10 lvls above me and own me.. Just now I tried to do a tier two keep siege.. I got like 15 guys together after a while and tried to take the keep which was tons of fun.. but we wiped, and before I can say that I'm gonna try to get more people I hear about 5 people in my group say "screw this, im off to do scenarios.." and our group quickly fell apart.
with love,
a very disturbed RVR fan

There are those who love RvR, there are those who goes for max min rewards/effort. There are those who love PvE. This game allows everyone to find something inside.
If you are very much into RvR, find an RvR guild. There are many on the message boards recruiting. With like mind people around, and if they are in you gaming time zone, you have a lot more regulars to RvR with.
im probly going to buy WAR this weekend, hopefully there will be some more world PVP =[ althow the scenarios look fun to, i just prefer world pvp....seems more fun/challenging
AWEG RJN
well if you take all the kepps from the other team they will have to take one back to get rewards so thats at least one way
well maybe your in the wrong zone. on my server yesterday we were fighting order for their last keep in a T3 zone for a good 3-4 hours before we finally pushed them out. was good times.
well, first off.. Sure you can do RVR if you want and I love that you have the option to in this game.. But no one chooses to because the rewards are so easy to come by in the scenarios. Why not give better rewards for doing RVR so more people do it?
And it takes a ton of people to take a keep.. it's not as easy as "take theirs and they will be forced to fight back." because getting 20+ people who want to PVP and who are not in scenarios is nearly impossible!

i know it takes several poeple to take a keep i have done it on several occasions b ut thats the whole point it forces world RVR you honestly tellin me that if the oposing side sees a large group heading for the gear vendors they aint gonna do something about it ?
And if your looking to do solo RVR you are in the wrong game
Try to look at your maps for combat indicators in the RvR areas.
Once you see a star over a keep or the open fight icons then go there because it means someone is battling.
Once you enter the area check for open battle groups and join them.
I spend 3 hours straight last evening in awesome battles in the Shadowlands with about 80 vs 100.
You just have to look for the right indicators that show where the fight is. This is one thing us old DaoCers learned in that game.
"You are the hero our legends have foretold will save our tribe, therefore please go kill 10 pigs."
This will continue for awhile at first.. quoted from the latest TTH interview with Mark Jacobs:
Ten Ton Hammer: In regards to RvR balance, when you look at scenarios versus open world RvR, it seems like the instant gratification for scenarios is very high. Are you offering some sort of similar reward system for open world RvR? It seems like players are drawn to the scenarios, and the open RvR has been a bit lesser populated.
Mark: That's the way it will be in the beginning. Whether they're coming from WoW or LOTRO or Camelot, right now scenarios are very quick and easy ways to level and get gear. We knew that people would be drawn to that. However, we expect them to start to move over to the open RvR once they get past the first couple tiers.
In terms of loot and all that, we certainly are going to provide a lot of encouragement to people to get involved with open RvR.
Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV
During CB we defended a T2 keep for like 8 hours.
I think its because ppl want to level up right now , t4 is where the real ORvR will be .
I would say give it time. The rewards for dropping a keep lord in Tiers 2-4 are probably extremely awesome, not to mention the renown you probably get for flipping a keep. I haven't done it yet, but I know you get a lot of renown for flipping an objective, so I'm betting a keep gives a lot more.
Once people realize this, I think you'll find open rvr is where the fun is at. I agree with you at this point though. It is hard to find a good fight in tier 1 open rvr.
---------------------------------------------
I live to fight, and fight to live.
I hope your right about RVR being much better at T4.. And I hope people actually participate in it then... I can see people still only doing scenarios then as well.

right now it is all about leveling up - scenarios are good for that, and they let you do PvP. Once the initial rush has settled, people will explore RvR in more depth, given that it's the end-game of WAR...
You can only do so many scenarios before the xp RP or xp is just not really worht it.
Seriously its not that hard to get levels or RP. Anyone grinding scenarios is being silly. Passin up a good keep siege for a Scenario is silly.
Passing up a badly organized keep siege not so much though. Takes omse patience to figure out how to get everyone organized so you don't wipe.
And if the other faction comes along it can be tough or take two warbands.
My guild and allies have been participating on keep takeovers and defense, but it seems that having a full raid disheartens the enemies and they run away
Anyway, keep fights are great fun and actually do work, what would be nice though to increase the time to open the chest because I once didn't have enough time to loot it and lost a green bag.
hehe yep, so true.
I play on a PvP server these days, so I was expecting lotsa world PvP... y'know, a constant struggle in open zones for control points and what not that all lvls could get involved in?
This isnt how it has turned out.
I go out, alone or with a few buddies, at L10 to go and world PvP, looking to get into it and have some exciting fights, but all you get is a solid zerg ganking by L20 players who just sit in the zone waiting for victims. You simply cannot do anything in the T1 open world PvP until you get to L18+, which is honestly cr*p. This is why people stick to scenarios, until it is their turn to go into the open world PvP at 20 and gank others in return until they get kicked up to the next tier and have to start it all over again.
No competition, no sport, no fun.
At L10, I got mobbed by 3 L20s and they actually had the face the /cheer their victory.... as if it meant something.... Honestly, I think something is broken in a lot of 'hardcore' PvPers brain... I just don't think they get it at all.
Mythic need to sort this out... have attackers 3 levels above the victim turn chicken or something... I dunno, but something, or world PvP is never gonna be viable for the majority of players on a server.
My friend, wait until the leveling craze is over.
Ive been there
Now im in a guild thats working on RVR and PVP this will change for the server Sylvania..
If you want to come join us, we welcome you!
Guild Purpose and Focus -
The guild was designed as a rapid deployment unit to support any battle ongoing in the world at any given time.
What this means is: Guild Generals will watch the world map and RvR zones to see where the units are needed. Anywhere in the world that Order seems to be losing, EEC will be deployed to setup turret defenses and mine fields to stop Destruction advancement.
The main goal of the guild is to always provide superior defense and a sure footing for Order to succeed and win on the battlefield.
Guild Hierarchy and Promotions -
The guild is ran much like a military unit. The heirarchy is broken down into standard military ranks.
Upon entry into the corps you will be assigned to 1 of 4 battle companies. Each company has a General that oversees it, a Commander, Squad leader, and company troops.
New members will start with the title of recruit, once they have a few battles under their belt, squad leaders can authorize recruits to be promoted and placed into a company for permanent status.
Once someone has been placed into a company his actions on the battlefield will dictate his promotions. If a company commander deems you worthy of Squad leader you will then be promoted and new recruits will be placed under you.
You will continue up this ladder to one day become a General of the EEC.
Guild Requirements -
First and formost EEC only accepts members of the Dwarven race.
Roles of each class.
Dwarf Engineer - Combat support and defenses
Dwarf Runepriest - Combat medic and buffer
Dwarf Ironbreaker - Infantry and Special Forces (special force as in you will use "Special Force" to get the unit into place and hold off the enemy long enough for your squad to setup defenses)
Second you will need a high sense of teamplay. This is war of course, you will need the ability to play well with others, learn the role needed by your specific company and play well as a team.
Third and equally important be mature. Younger players are of course welcome in the guild, however immaturity will not be tolerated. We play for fun we play hard and we want it to be a nice atmoshpere where everyone gets along and has a great time. No drama please
Anyone interested in joining the guild please contact one of the following in game or send a PM to me on the forums and we will get you added to the guild as soon as possible.

Every single day we form a full warband (usually two, sometimes three) and take over all the Keeps and BOs that we can. Order usually shows up so we have plenty of PvP. Gaining Renown from taking keeps is much, much better than running scenarios. And we do this on a Low/Low population server. It isn't very hard to find 50-100 people who want to RvR together. Just send word to all the guilds, have them post an invite in their guild chat and bam you have more people then you know what to do with. Non-guilded folk can take a piss, they don't matter in a game like WAR.
Which server you are playing? Because I am still in Tier 2 and there is basically non-stop World RvR action. I was doing World RvR till 3.am yesterday and when I was logging out, there were still many people fighting. Maybe it's server issue or just underpopulated server..
The other day, world rvr was going off! I was in the chaos tier 2 rvr lake, and i ran up to the flag (pve quest to scout rvr points) and noticed about 10 destros (i'm destro too). Anyway, they were all just standing around. So i ran down to the keep, which was just nearby, and about 20 orders were trying to raid the keep from about 10 of us... so i quickly ran back to the flag, and told everyone to head to the keep... sure enough they did.
we had a massive open rvr battle where we kicked order's ass!
I've heard others have the same sort of experience in rvr lakes, but i think everyone is in the chaos/empire areas... back in the elf region, i haven't seen much action at all.
myrlar!
I played the open PVP server and its insanely full of world rvr
Maybe thats what you want , you should try
Tier 1 was mild but as soon as I got to tier 2 was crazy trying to take back the place so we could qust
Speak for yourself! There is World PvP going on almost 24/7 on my server you just have to look at the map every once in a while and get involved.
Also consider end game when people don't need experience anymore. It will be like neverending RvR.
I do agree though. Capturing a keep should be more heavily rewarded than a Scenario. Say winning a T2 scenario grants around 9-11k xp. Then winning a keep should grant 15k+ with bonus renown.
