Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic III [rumored]

Also known as: Star Wars KOTOR 3, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3, Obsidian Project #3 [untitled]

"The third chapter in LucasArts' RPG exploration of the Star Wars legacy.

NOTE: This game has not yet been announced or officially confirmed by the publisher. Exact plans for which platforms this title might release on are also unconfimed at this time. Unofficially, the game is expected to be one of three next-gen projects in the works at developer Obsidian Entertainment."

If it's true - It sounds good to me!

Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.

If Obsidian is making it, I'm not playing it. Just because these limited talent hacks get to ride on Biowares' coattails doesn't make their games worthy. NWN 2 and KotOR 2 proved that already.

While I never played NWN2, KOTOR2's shortcomings largely fall onto LucasArts who literally RUSHED the game out, forcing OBSIDIAN to make drastic cuts to the game.  The game was developed and had to ship in something like 9 months which is just ridiculous for an expected tripple A game.

Notice at the top where it says "rumored"?  Yeah.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

I can only agree with you. Obsidian is just plain terrible. Kings of rush it out the door and maybe we can fix it with patches later. I tried Kotor Ii and it was a let down from Kotor (buggy/imcomplete) gave them another chance with NWN2. learned my lesson and will never buy another Obsidian game again.

I just wanted to point out that this has been on IGN for almost a year now. This is nothing new at all. Sorry to burst the collective bubble.

You can't spell ignorant without IGN. (they report even the vaguest rumors of games, like "Untitled Action Game 17")

But yeah, long rumored. I'm rather lukewarm about Obsidian, decent games, but terrible endings (KOTOR2, NWN2)

R.I.P. City of Heroes and my 17 characters there

I'd be more excited if KOTOR 2 wasn't such a rushed and buggy game.

NWN2 was rushed and so full of bugs most people couldn't play it right out of the box or even after the first patches were applied. Lucas couldn't be blamed for that.

KOTOR 2 was not all that bad imo.

NWN2 is a great game with lots of bug (really really lots of them) and the x pac is one of the best RPG experiences I had since fallout and baldur's gate.

I never had a problem with any of them.

The key to enjoying PC games is never ever purchase anything at release no matter what it is. You need to wait a good 3 - 6 months for all the issues to get worked out. Whether its an MMO or single player, whatever.

By that time there has usually been a price drop or you can get them on ebay for stupid cheap and you get a high quality game for half the price and you miss NOTHING but a boatload of frustration.

Never reward low quality release with full retail price. If you pre-order, you're an idiot who deserves all the bugs you can eat. Only when people start sending this message will devs get the hint and make high quality games. Until then enjoy the next VG, TR, HG, Fury, PotBS or AoC hype and make sure to get the super deluxe pre-order cause you didn't learn the last 5 or 6 times.

I got the collectors edition of VG for 12.99 on ebay (retail 99.99), got 30 free days, 10 buddy keys (which I gave away here this last summer) a bunch of free items and swag, a second copy for my wife for 5.99... and the game runs great now. Do I feel ripped off? F**k no.
