Like most, I work.. and like most, I only have te evening to relax and the weekend to play.
So far, even with the LONG LONG delay in releasing WAR citing "We want to make sure everything is working as it should when the game goes live" .. is a joke..
Don't get me wrong.. I think the game is fun.. it's different.. but that's about it.
The graphic is pretty weak compared to this day and age - I know, I know, it's a fine balance between having good graphic and smooth RvR content.. my question is, why not both?
Yes, game play is better than graphic and I agree, again I ask.. why not both? - just cause a plate of food taste divine doesn't mean it has to be served up like a bowl of dog shit..
I log on tonight and it's down for 4 hours.. I finally get on and guess what, 2 hours into game time, it's going down again for an hour..
Hey - it's the oceanic server.. why the HELL bring it down at peak time? Won't it be smart to take the server down say.. 4am.. instead of 9pm!????
Not that I am going back to WoW, but if this continue, I think I will just go and play Monopoly or something.

If you had any computer smarts, you'd know why the graphics are the way they are. Yes, as you cited - to offer a nice balance between RvR and graphics. So why ask not both? Well, maybe not everyone has a high end machine that can deal with both RvR and high end graphics at the same time. I just don't get people like you. The graphics are fine. Must every game suck just because it isn't released with Crysis style graphics? WAR's graphics compete fine with ANY MMO on the market today. Simple as that.
And, please, stop bitching about down time. The game is new so it is to be expected that Mythic will take the servers down often. Glad I no longer have a moronic addiction to computer games. I play them when I play them. I own WAR and I play it but no big deal if I don't get to play it every night. The game is going to be around for years and years. So, WTF is the rush?

You answered your own question. Why not both? Because you'll have the wonderful large scale PvP experience you get in AoC. How do you not get this?
Quit playing then. It's obvious you don't like it why do you make yourself play? Either play and enjoy yourself or quit. It's a game, not a job.
I don't know how much more clearly to put it other than that you can't have badass graphics and render hundreds of people on the screen fighting while doing all of the netcode in the background. The technology isn't there yet.
Yeah I agree the problems with the oceanic server have been a little frustrating
However, since they actually HAVE and oceanic based server which WoW never did I'm still giving them some rope. I think it was awesome that Mythic decided to launch with oceanic servers. For years we were petitioning WOW to have these but they said it was not possible and now WAR launched with them.
They even moved Oceanic maintenance times pronto unlike WoW.
LMAO. Bottom line WOW didn't give a crap about oceanic gamers, at least Mythic did. Its been a little bumpy but hopefully it will smoothen out. It's obvious that this company actually cares about it's SEA and Oceanic playerbase tho.
PS: Having local ping is awesome. I'm never moving back to WoW with crappy ping :P

No, i don't expect Crysis graphic on a internet game and for you to assume that just show what a moron you are. You are right in saying that not everyone got a super computer though - which again, shows how pathetic you are. My computer is 2 years old and it runs the game fine.. I got no problems with RvR at all and turning up the graphic up doesn't kill my PC..
So my question to you is - what sort of shit PC do you have? How about stop posting so much on forum, get yourself a real job and buy a better PC.. so other people doesn't have to suffer just cause you got a IBM 386.
What's getting to be a joke is all the trolls switching between alts and posting the same rehashed stuff. How many people don't know that graphics is a word and post graphic in it's place. The graphic in X is bad. The graphic is Y is good. It's graphics. Now you and all your troll alts can say it correctly.
So your saying you would rather play with known issues, and they should fix the problems later. It doesn't matter what day or time of the week it is, because it will always inconvience someone. Just relax and let them fix the problem and try to understand that it is just a game.

Curious though - what time do they bring down the US server.. at 9pm peak time.. or morning?

That means that players like you can play on low graphics and people with high end machines can utilize that what they paid and invested for and play on high graphic settings.

Its pretty random when the servers come down. It's usually morning but its come down in peak times too if a patch is needed. Also, i do agree local ping is awesome as I live about 20 minutes from mythic.
If hardware demand were any higher I and most of the people I play with wouldn't be playing because RvR would be impossible.
Doing PvP in VG with more then 2 people was a lag fest with my system. AoC ran nice and didn't look bad, but I could tell that there was no way I was getting 40 people on screen without lagging me to the point of being pointless to play.
I don't need the game to look like AoC or VG to enjoy myself, hell WoW's graphics are fine with me, and WAR's is def. better then a lot of other games out. PoTBS only looks better when you're on your boat and in an instanced battle, avatars and open sea travel on the other hand really didn't do it for me, and many of the F2P mmo's really aren't that great looking.
Outside of that I'm not really sure what game you would compare it to. EQ2 models are better, but I personally think the world looks worse, WoW's world is on par but I think the Models aren't quite as good as WAR, VG has better models and world but the animations are horrid, SWG only has intersting shadows; the models and and world aren't that great in my opinion. DAoC doesn't look better and I hated the animations, L2 (yeah, ummmm some may disagree but for a guy that's been doing art since he could pick up a pencil L2 is above and beyond any game on the market as far as artistic quality goes; it has no comparison) graphically? Ughhh, you can get a 100 people on the screen pvping, it lags, but it works. Auto Assualt, Saga of Ryzom, you klnow, basically I've played like everythng out to some extent and WAR doesn't look worse and in some cases actually looks better then a lot of them. It def. looks better then planetside, WW2O, Dark and light, Asheron's Call, Anarchy online, Ragnarok, Knight online, just to name a few.
I can't play UO, as much as I want to, because it's dated and I like eye candy.
Also something to note. Every MMO that has released with high system demands and built to take advantage of future hardware has flopped on release. VG, EQ2, AoC all had and still have problems running for a lot of people.
Edit: Also, I'm not really sure of any games that take servers down based on the time zone for it. I feel for you, I played WoW with a lot of Aussies, but at the same time I could imagine that doing mainanence for one cluster at one time and another at another time would be a much bigger PITA.

Graphic scaling? Never heard of it.
I play on a 7950gt oc and i have a res of 1920x 1200, I can put everything to max and the game runs ok with some lag in areas, but I keep the setting at fastest framerate so that I can get the best performance possible because, you know, that's more important in PvP then seeing every partical effect available in game.
Maybe Mythic should do some of the graphic scaling you talk of, perhaps you could write them.
I am sorry, I don't understand. You work all day and want to relax therefore you get really uptight about a game not being perfect?
I would think you would be less picky and just want a fun game more than anything else. Sounds more like you will just never actually be able to relax because you are sabotaging your own happiness. Nothing is ever good enough, not enough fun, no relaxation -> constant need to fill something that is never satisified.
