Well with a 7600 1.5 gigs of ram and a p4 3.1 gz proccesor.. my frames are 10-30... and i cnat even run on max or medium settings thats at the lowest settings, and resoulution. Yes my drivers are updated. So I was wondering if   theres something im missing here, W.A.R should run alot better then this!~

Any opions or advice would be awsome or if u have the same catrd plzz let me know how it runs for you!

6800 to 7600 is not an upgrade but more like downgrade!!!

Also it looks that your main problem is the memory. I have 2G and it become compleatly full when play WAR. So 2G is like a minimum memory for WAR.

The second problem looks like your CPU. Some dual core will have great effect on the performance.

wow i see ur point if i was going to change cpu 2.. i might as well start building a new pc but i can not... i have a budget.... i have 1.5 gigs.. i guess i could buy 1 more 500.. so what card should i get 7900 or the ati 3850

You purchased the GeForce 7600 GS card which is no better or worse than a 6800 GT.
A 7600 GT with 256 MB GDDR memory and you're good to go. Bear in mind that this card also comes in a PCI version... just so you don't buy the wrong one. The 7600 GT comes fairly cheap and shouldn't be hard to find.
Now. A graphics card doesn't do it alone and you might have other hardware/software that makes the game "lag" to you.

we know what hes looking for, but thank you for blindly posting with out reading the thread.. Good Job

No, no. Thank you for pointing that out to me... Though I did read the thread but might have been writing while others were posting.

OP, the ATI Radeon 3850 series GPU's are probably the most powerful for AGP, but I guarantee you that the 7600GT is much better than your 7600GS. Then again: it also depends on what company the card is from.

If you like to compare the generations and power of the ATI and Nvidia cards then you might want to check these pages out:

    OP,

Try the newest Nvidia drivers. ver 178 i believe. Just released! Fixes performance for a whole range of issues

Not much luck on a cheap 7950GT, but if you're gonna go the ATI route, this is a good deal for the 3850:

Well, I'd say anything with Oblivion-style graphics or less you should be okay. I mean, you ain't gonna max out Crysis with an agp card. I should think it would handle WAR nicely, med/high at least. Probably max once they optimize it more.

Realistically, WARs graphics are not much more intensive than WoWs. It's the coding behind the graphics that slows things down a bit.

Be sure to provide the link to the AGP version of that, so it fits his requirements.

Unless you're planning to donate to have the rest of his comp upgraded.

that looks pretty decent, and the 3 and 4 gen ati cards are pretty good

why go for the 3850 when you can get the ddr4 3870 and cheaper from other places then newegg.

edit.. hrmm does the 3870 ddr come in agp i dont think so.. so maybe you are correct

Oh, but it does and that would most likely be an excellent card for the ol' AGP slot.

By the way, OP. Your 7600GS shouldn't have any trouble running WAR with a decent framerate. I suspect something else is the problem. If you can put more system RAM on that motherboard you got, then that would might help you a bit.

Bye the way 7900 series is to far for my motherboard and its agp

My brother just baught a 7600.  After installing the thing he was a little upset that his performance didn't improve.  He went and baught 2 gigs of ram (he had 1 g but needed to buy 2 of the same sticks so it was 2 gigs instead of 1).

His problem was ram.  he said he's running at max setting; not the best performance but well enough for him.

  • There seem to be some performance wonkiness in certain setup.  People who have upgraded thier machines to better configurations than mine are getting more lag than me.  But other people are not.  I run WAR decently sometimes there is bad lag, but for the most part its playable.  But I know of a few people getting strange performance.  Not sure why.  Hardware, software, network hard to say.
