Im not a Warhammer hater. I own it and am currently playing. I think Mythic did well w/ this game, but I just had to quote this because its like deja vu...Hopefully it wont end the same way.

This was also said when WoW was released, and every other MMO. What's your point? Everyone compares everything to AoC like it's the first game for all of these things to happen and because they happen again in this game it means WAR will suffer the same fate. It happens in every game at launch.

I like it alot right now, really, so much, that I left Ryzom, which is a great sandbox game.
WAR has no stress, no grind, and all fun.

I don't know where you took that, but the difference from AOC for example is that Mythic delivered stuff they promissed and did not cheat people, which was the major reason for AOC failure. Since you are taking the AoC example - AoC promissed one, delivered something else and that in a highly unfinished state. WAR delivered what it promissed, mostly in the state they promissed so if there are any complaints, they are not even closely in the same league as AOC, and that will show in the numbers.
You might not like how the game looks and works, but that is only your own problem that you did not read tons of information, available well before the launch, before you decided to make a purchase and thus, you have zero right to come complain. Mythic did not sell you any bullcrap - it is obviously you who did an unimformed purchase.
Yeah this game is slow, Boring, and dull. I will agree the classes in this game suck. Healers suck, Tanks suck, only good thing in this game is Melee DPS, but they took out 2 of them when i think squig herder would of been a better class to remove. And all battles are decided now with how many people you have to Gank the other guy before his help arrives, which in turn wont help because they will just kill him then run. We will see the true numbers for this game when WoTLK comes out because damn they aint going to be able to keep the WoWbois for to much longer.

I think the OPs agenda is pretty obvious. He likes another game and is pissed that WaR has drawn people away from that game so it hurts his enjoyment of the game he likes. So he tries to downtalk WaR in the hope that it will make less people move over to it and hurting his game experience even more.
One thing sounds right. People who dont like the game get the dislike within 48 hours of starting to play it. WaR is so radically different that it doesnt take 40 lvls to understand if the game is not your cup of tea. I have seen that in several of my friends. But none of them felt the urge to hurt WaR because of this.

Some people who are not playing war, want to see it fail so bad, they feel the need to describe it as the worst game ever.
Of many of the negative posts ive seen on this thread, warhammer, for me, is nothing like they explained it. Gameplay isnt slow or clunky, i enjoy the graphics, pve is fun and still growing on me.
I guess they dont like the no-grind fun...its funny because before warhammer i gurantee on other game forums they all bitched about how grindy games where.
Yeah instant action RvR, more content than any game out todate, option to not grind at all to endgame...yeah warhammer sucks /s
I enjoy WAR and love the Warhammer lore so whenever I see people bitch about WAR I usually just chuckle and move on without responding.
Let me break this down for everyone in an honest fashion:
Reasons to like WAR:
Mythic delivered on almost -exactly- what they promised the game would be.
Mythic has been extremely upfront about the game. When people bitched about server congestion they took the time to clone -everything- on the heavily populated servers to less populated ones so people could switch servers and not have to start everything over.
WAR has the best PvP system of any mmo to date, if you don't like pvp then I wouldn't bother buying this game.
WAR gives you the option to have ZERO grind to level. You can level ENTIRELY off of PvP if you choose to and there is still PLENTY of PvE content to level completely that way if you choose to (it's faster in fact).
WAR is -extremely- loyal to the world GW created, so if you are a fan of Warhammer lore then it's really fun to see it in action like this.
Reasons not to like WAR:
EA forced Mythic to 'kiddify' the game in order to give it a Teen rating. It isn't Mythics fault that EA has the business sense to release a well-funded MMO to blanket as wide an audience as possible. Still though WAR should be much, much bloodier.
I'm not going to even mention the graphics for one simple reason: If you bitch about graphics in MMO's then you have NO idea what you're talking when it comes to the mmo market. The time it takes to build high-res models with the kind of poly count most of you people are whining for eats up a LOT of dev time. MMO's are extremely complex to code and if you try to focus on graphics then your gameplay WILL suffer unless you double your dev cycle, which costs a shit load more money. AoC reportedly threw 100m into the game...they focused almost entirely on smooth animations and graphics and look where that got them. AoC is the BIGGEST flop in mmo history and will hold that title forever.
There really aren't enough crafting professions. As it stands there are only two actual crafting professions and while interesting are still pretty lame imho. Mythic should have incorporated more in-depth crafting profs such as the ones from EQ2 (probably the best crafting system I've ever seen in any game).
I've had enough of these bitchy threads from dumbass players who need to go back to playing single player games. People like the OP have no idea what they're talking about and need to get out of the mmo market entirely because it's clearly not the kind of game for them. My Vanguard Account is active and i am playing it. I gave this Warhammer crap to my girlfriend now, she wants to give it a try. I have some 30ish characters in Vanguard. no way someone could compare the warm atmosphere of VG with the candy land grafic from Warhammer.
Also the Fighting system in VG is years ahead of this warhammer crap.
Hmm, you have 30ish characters in Vanguard, I suppose this means you like to do the same boring quest (kill @*%# 1/1000) over and over? Vanguard is overrated by it's fans, there is no real endgame. All you do in Vanguard is the same boring PvE crap over and over, while your human characters look like women regardless of their gender.
Also, the animal races in Vanguard are just cheap humans with an animal head on them, at least in Everquest II they were actually different... where are the cat-like appendages? In Vanguard I can walk into an enemy races city and do anything I want there... without them doing anything to me, what the hell is up with that?
Vanguard has failed to beat the game it was supposed to succeed let alone Warcraft, Warhammer or hell, even Conan.
Whats the point of a big open world if there is nobody to share it with? (I forgot to mention half the game is covered in same-looking spiders that just have a different name).

mmo's will always be about PvE, and PvE is where warhammer fails, it fails at everything, but pve especially. it will fail at pvp too because pretty soon people will realize all the class imbalances, people will start to use speed and radar hacks like in daoc, people will start multi boxing and throwing the balance like every ignorant pvp system mmo's have thought up.
i don't know how many times i have said this, but no game will ever be good at pvp while there is a class, race, level, and gear based system in effect. sorry, it just won't happen.

Warhammer was setup for large multi-character battles in one place. If you tried to put the same amount of people in one place with the graphic levels of VG nobodies computer could run it. You've got to compromise in one area to get the epic battles in the other.
I like the epic battles. Tons of people all over. The graphics are more than adequate to get my imagination wrapped around the scene. That's all it takes for me, the rest is all fun in game play.

If you dont like WAR then dont play it. Why does it matter to you that it got high rating? The whole WARvs AoC or WAR vs WoW debates (flamefests might be a better word because I rarely see a real argument presented) are for the simpleminded.

Lol, at Jesus comment. Sorry to burst you bubble but i won't be following your opinion. I cancelled my AOC sub and looking forward to more fun in WAR.
My Vanguard Account is active and i am playing it. I gave this Warhammer crap to my girlfriend now, she wants to give it a try. I have some 30ish characters in Vanguard. no way someone could compare the warm atmosphere of VG with the candy land grafic from Warhammer.
Also the Fighting system in VG is years ahead of this warhammer crap.
Warhammer was setup for large multi-character battles in one place. If you tried to put the same amount of people in one place with the graphic levels of VG nobodies computer could run it. You've got to compromise in one area to get the epic battles in the other.
I like the epic battles. Tons of people all over. The graphics are more than adequate to get my imagination wrapped around the scene. That's all it takes for me, the rest is all fun in game play.
