Well, first of, I am sorry if I misspell anything wrong. I am sorry if i use caps.This is simply pissing me off. I see this every where, not just with MMO's. PEOPLE COMDEMN GAMES FOR NO REASON!!!, i will use the Darkfall community as an example (i was looking into Darkfall, but the actions of the Community has simply destroyed my urge to play it), just because you want your game, does not mean that all other games are pure trash, and should burn, and clear the way for your damn game. If your game is really that good, it doesn't need you attacking other games to try and put yours on top. THERE ARE OTHER GAMES OUT THERE AS WELL, there are other games that you havn't even looked into, and you might like, but you attack them constantly. This is not just directed to the Darkfall community, hundreds of people are doing it. And I am freakin tired of it.
-Look into other games, they are just other oncepts, whp the hell cares if you don't like them, don't freaking shoot thm down in worship for your precious jewel of a game.
-IT IS A GAME, don't corrupt your life like this, don't try and mess with other people because you like your game.
-Be open to criticism, there is a HUGE difference from criticism and trolling, trolling is used by people to provoke others to flame them for their enjoyment. Criticism is used to point out the faults of the game, and hopefully make people aware of them. DON'T SHOOT THEM DOWN TO, there is a difference, I don't care what game you are waiting for, it is not perfect, nothing can be truly perfect. Accept criticism, and it might make your game a hell of a lot better.
-Accept that there are other games that might be good, adn taht people like them to, and don;t day that games are garbage, because beuty is in the eye of the beholder. Just shut up about that kind of stuff, you like your game FINE, everyone else likes their games, FINE. LEave everyone else be, unless if it is for a constructive review or criticism and such.
-Don;t attack other games to put yours on tops, *cough, cough* darkfall fans, *cough gough* making multiple accounts *cough cough* de hyping games. Don't do stupid things like this. The hype meter is simply a place to well, cast your hyoe, its ok if you look intoa game first, and establish a profeshional opinion, but not creating dozens of accounts and attacking games for no possible reasion at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
That is the end of the rant, enjoy the dancing Bananas i will be awaiting the flames that I am sure I will receive for giving criticism on this subject.

Totally agree with you about the whole bashing everyones games. The truth is people are just stating their opinion and because it differs from others they have to slam negative posts about them which really isnt necessary and totally pointless as they know nothing about the person there slamming.
I also agree with your opinion of the Darkfall community I am sure it is just the minority as I cannot wait for Darkfall personally but have never said a single bad thing about anyone who has voiced a constructive comment against it. Its their right. However, I am also tired of people slamming the Darkfall community for being hyped up and excited about a game. I can think of more than one thread thats has been a harmless Darkfall discussion ruined by someone coming in saying "Darkfall is a fail, it wont happen. Move on" or comments to that effect. How about some saying "Hope the game turns out to be everything you expect" or "Good luck" perhaps then maybe this minority wouldnt be so bad.

Very well said. I would just like to put out some advice for combating this kind of troll.
Strategy #1) Ignore them.
Strategy #2) Pick apart and politely prove them wrong (discretion advised as this will not always work).
Warning #1) Never insult them personally (its what they thrive on).
Warning #2) Be prepared to back up all of your arguments with proof and do the necessary research to make sure you are correct.

My thesis of what a MMORPG should be about is expressing a player character's story to other players within the game world. A game that allows you and I to communicate with each other and allows for our uniqueness to shine is what should be most important for the developers when building a MMORPG. I should be treated and feel like a PC and not a NPC by other players.
World of Warcraft is a fun game but it is the antithesis to my opinion of what a MMORPG should be about.
World of Warcraft allows for very little individual expression. There are very few items of worth and how you get them are clearly defined by the game. There is very little customization. There is very little ownership. There are very few emotes. There are too few things to do ingame that have any real value to them.
Your opinion of WoW might be different and you'll express counterpoints to my points. A discussion will begin and perhaps together we may find what is called synthesis - which is common ground. Our discussion might get other people thinking and start a change that will bring about better changes to the MMORPG genre.
This is the fondation of conflict and civil conflict resolution. I'm sorry that you don't like it but the only solutions to it are Anarchy and Fascism; both of which you'd enjoy even less.

I think there are people who strive on making a difference or a change when they see something they don't like (like the OP) which is admiriable if done the right way. Then there are others (like you and me) who don't like conflict and try not to say anything when they don't like something.
