They'll probably make it so the sign ups coincide with the release of the next patch, which is supposed to be a few days, so tuesday sounds right on the money.
I remember asking someone like 2 weeks ago when the next patch would be out, and they said tuesday the week after the upcoming tuesday. So this seems like the most likely day, but I wouldn't doubt monday either
Just because you get to possibly sign up soon doesn't mean you get to play soon too. For all we know, Blizzard might not start OB for another month or more.
Yes but it means an almost guarentee into OB which i would probably get anyway but.... The release date is at November 16th right now and at my local EBGames they said it was not going to be pushed back any further but who knows....
regardless of whether beta is gonna be oct 12 or not i have been patient and waiting i just wanna play anyway i can whether ob or release i will remain patient
I don't think they're trying to make it earth shattering. They just want to do a great job of making their game set within the Warcraft universe, and maybe fine tune and fix some of the negative things that are in other MMOs.
I buy a game because I wanna have fun in it Rathma But I doubt it would start OB during November. I remember an official at blizzard responded to a topic that said WoW wasn't ready for OB, he said that they still had some patches left before OB.

Yes and EQ2 has so many new groundbreaking features?
Apart from the considerable graphics engine It looks like every other game in the genre.

This is a thread about World of Warcraft, please don't turn it into another EQ2 vs. WoW thread.

My point exactly. Although it may be fun the first few weeks, It starts to lose it's touch because it doesn't have much new to offer. And that was why I was hoping battlegrounds would be good. That is a fairly new idea (sounds similar to DAoC's RvR though).
I think the game will have great depth. It also has some new races and the FvF will be very fun. This is the 1st game that i will play on the PVP Server just because the FvF is such a great idea. (Other games have tried FvF but it never really worked out from what ive seen, except DoAC) And watching all of these raid videos and what not makes me want to play ever more
Sigh... Well there goes my life again. When i was in the setres test my whole world went to hell and i basicly lived in the game it got me that badly but hey o well

and that's where they are making their biggest mistake.. Sure WoW will attract all the fans of the genre games and attract a little interest.. but after a couple of months they will loose a lot of business to any one of the numerous games out there that are trying to create something "better", not the same old grind like WoW.
Ya but what game in the last few years that has been groundbreaking has actually succeeded haha. Shadowbane...... one of the most groundbreaking games and it failed miserably... of course there were many reasons for that happening but still, sometimes its the simplest, most polished, most fun games that win out, groundbreaking or not. Look at how many people still play eq, and thats about as not groundbreaking as you can get right now. bottomline is that tons of people will play this game and i wouldnt be surprised if it ended up overtaking eq and others.
Just look at how groundbreaking SWG was. it introduced a whole host of new ideas into the MMO genre. Yet with all its innovation it still is a poor game at this point and losing players in droves.

Waiting to tryout WoW!
open beta is open beta
you don't have to "guarantee" your spot...it's for everyone who wants to sign up

Not unless they do things totally different than open betas from other games.
Usually, they'll open up signups for open beta and the sign ups are open until open beta is over.
"sign up" is more like an "application". You're giving them your info so you can set up an account for the open beta.

That's Blizzard for you. No matter how hard they work on their game, they'll never do anything groundbreaking.
I just hope battlegrounds and FvF is fun. This is the only reason i'd buy this game.
