Is WoW going to have a monthly subscription fee? or is it going to be like the Diablo/Starcraft series where you pay for the game and can play on-line for free? I know this is probably a stupid question, but this will be my first mmorpg, and from my understanding, mmorpg's usually have a monthly fee.
Yeah. Both will have box prices, and they will have monthly fees, too. I am going to buy WoW and I am going to buy Guild Wars because that is free monthly
Thanks guys. So I'm assuming that anyone who wants to take part in the Open Beta will be given a download location... or will they require you to pay for the software up front before downloading it? or make you pay for the software once it goes full launch?
With the Stress Test, they gave us a site to download from and there were no costs (we were doing a service for them). I assume the same thing applies for the Open Beta. No cost with a link to download from, sent to you via email, if they decide you qualify for the Open Beta. After release you will have to buy the Retail version of the game and pay a monthly fee to subscribe.
You will be able to download the client for free for the entire Open. you will then have to go to another website in order to register, to choose your username and passwarod so that you can login and play. Once retail hits every CD-key will be wiped and you will have to register the cd-key that came with your copy.
WoW is pay per play. It going to be around 10-15 dollars a month. What I know for sure that Guild Wars going to be free per play but you will have to pay like $50 for the disk in the box.

It'll be downloadable for open beta. They'll probably have something that makes it so open beta client won't work for retail.
