We have this place ... thing ... clan ... job? Anyway, it is called Hex & Waaagh! and it is gonna be a great place to smack squigs. Interested? Then read on ...
What do we do
Hex & Waaagh! is a clan on a Core RP server we have yet to pick with the purpose of bringing people together to enjoy every aspect of Warhammer Online. We hope to achieve this with PvE as well as RvR, and also with some things that have nothing to do with either of those.
Structure
H&W is run by:
Helm: The Clan Leader
Habergeons: Habergeons assist the Helm in clan decisions and the way the clan will function, as well as the day-to-day administration of the clan. Their input is most valuable, but the final decision will in the end be with the Helm. Habergeons need to have a high game attendance and be known and respected within the members. Although they need to adhere to the general ambiance of the clan, diversity in character and playstyle is appreciated. The number of Habergeons depends on the size of the clan to keep a dynamic scaling. We hope to have 1 Habergeon for every 20 Boots.
Gauntlets: All Boots are free to organise an event. However, it is necessary for a clan to have regular events and make sure everyone gets together a few times a week. Gauntlets will be the first and foremost people responsible for this.
Boots: That's YOU.

Code of Conduct
Members of Hex & Waaagh! will treat each other and the rest of the playerbase civil and with respect. Being an orc or under chaotic influence is not an excuse to be rude to others, unless it is of course fully in character and with the understanding of the opposite party. Should complaints arise against a member, disciplinary actions will be taken. In the event of no improvement, the member will be asked to leave the guild.
Talks about Religion, Sports and Politics often lead to heated discussions. We expect members to be aware of this and stop such discussions when anyone asks.
Members of H&W! are expected to be teamplayers. It is encouraged to adventure together as much as possible. This way we will come to know each other as people and also our various playstyles in order to get the most out of our co-operation.
Members of H&W! are expected to take part in organised clan events. Consistant inactivity without notice or explanation will not be tolerated for too long.
Members of H&W! are expected to yell "Waaagh!" at the top of their voices whenever their character scores a critical hit, be it with a spell or with a weapon ...
Age
We have no minimum age requirement. Everyone is welcome as long as they adhere to the code of conduct. Currently the majority of members are 30+.
Time to unfold some of the things we had in mind when starting this clan.
We are serious about this clan and want it to be more than just a small group of friends chilling and ’ackin’ stunties into uhm... smalla stunties.. As our welcome post states: Hex & Waaagh! is a clan with the purpose of bringing people together to enjoy every aspect of Warhammer Online. This includes getting our guild tavern, claiming a keep for ourselves, and forming a group to be reckoned with in RvR and PvE.
Survival
In order to get there, the first thing we need to do is make sure we survive. Of course we hope everyone will have a great time in WAR and stay for all eternity, but doubt this is realistic to expect. We actually estimate about half the clan will quit by the end of the first month simply because the game doesn't live up to their expectations. Some WoW fanatics will leave when that game's expansion comes out. So in order to survive we need to recruit aggressively and make this clan as fun and appealing as possible to make people not want to leave or think about other games.
Recruitment
The first goal we set towards getting a healthy clan is one we already met: 20 members by launch, and all boots we're very happy to have. With the game this close to launch, we're starting to get more interest on the forums we advertised on and we've been accepting new boots almost on a daily basis. Expectations are up to 30 by launch now. The next goal for membership numbers is 50 by the end of October, that's including the estimated quitters. To reach this goal we're lucky to have met our first goal with such excellent founding members, who we trust enough to give them the right to invite new boots. You can use this right at your own discretion. Once we reach that goal we'll have to see if it's still a good idea to recruit more, although personal friends of the founding members will always be welcome.
Making a clan you want to be in
So much for the aggressive recruiting, now on to keeping people interested. First of all, this is up to Mythic, they have to provide us with a game we want to play. Second, for any clan this is mostly up to the members, their level of activity and involvement with the clan. If everyone just soloes to 40 we won't have anyone staying around because of the great clan they're in for sure.
Events and Event Leaders
We'll try to have purely optional events scheduled every day, just so people can hang out with the clan if they want to, but we can't organize all those events with just the two of us. We'd actually prefer not to host any events except clan meetings, so we can have our hands free for other things. We will have volunteering Event Leaders to make sure there is something clan related to do for those that want to, this can be as simple as making an RvR group and inviting all clan members that want to come RvR with their clan. I know some boots are hesitant to take up an active role in the clan because they first want to see the game. There's no harm in trying to get the most out of it by organizing some clan groups while you're checking the game. We really need your effort to try and make the most of this game and will understand if the game isn't what you were looking for.
Clanmeetings
These will be used for announcements, promotions and appointing special roles within the clan. We think it's important to highlight certain events in the clan by getting as many folks as possible together and giving them some attention. Promotions for Habergeons, Gauntlets and Standard Bearers will take place here. New members will also get introduced here. If there's something important we want everyone's opinion on, it will be announced at the clan meeting, but discussed on the forum. All in all, clan meetings shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. We plan to have a clan meeting every week initially, for two reasons. First, we expect there to be a lot of activity in the first months. Second, it's just good to meet up without immediately fighting but getting to know each other sometimes. Once we can hold weekly clan meetings in under 15 minutes, we'll change to having the clan meeting every two weeks. Clan meetings will always be followed by another event, it would be a waste getting the clan together without crackin’ some skulls. The clan meetings are optional, but promotions will not be done and full membership will not be granted outside the clan meeting.
Standard bearers
Can I be a standard bearer? The first standard bearer in any WAR guild is the guild leader. After that, we'll need to rank up our clan to get up to seven standard bearers. As new slots unlock, we'll ask for volunteers to be standard bearers and give the role based on your amount of activity in the game and the amount of initiative you show in forming and joining clan groups. This means we prefer to give this role to event leaders who play a lot outside of events as well.

Server announcement: H&W will be on Makaisson.

Because we have a lot of people with access to the headstart we decided to start on Burlok instead of Makaisson. If Makaisson is up by thrusday, we'll decide wether to switch then.
We stayed on Burlok.
We recently had a recruitment stop because we very rapidly grew to 48 members. On october 1st, we've reopened recruitment.
We made guild rank 11 last night. In the first 16 days of our guild we've had organized events for our members on 13 evenings. We hoped to make this guild into more than an extra chat channel and so far that's going well.
