TCoS looks good

I just started reading up on this game and so far the combat is really impressing me.

The graphics are stylized which I dont mind and the UI looks totally different than Any MMo i've seen.

One question though Why are the devs releasing the game around the same time of WotLK?

Do they only plan on having a very small niche community? Personally I would Wait a couple months for WoW players and WAR players to get bored before releasing the game. Maybe a Jan 09 release would be a better time to launch and build a playerbase.

I know people have been waiting for the game but going head to head with WotLK is just asking for trouble the majority of the MMO playerbase will be too wraped into Wow to even notice this game.

Anyway It looks good and I will def have a go at that Trial Island once it releases.

Playing: Nothing

Looking forward to: Nothing

The German, English and French versions of The Chronicles of Spellborn are scheduled for release on November 27th, 2008 in Europe.

Wotlk is 13th of November..... so 2 weeks after.

That is right. At least when there are no further delays.

But apart from that SIL does not care about Wotlk. They are not trying to compete with WoW or any other game.

Also, do not expect too much from the game at release. TCoS will be like a raw diamond. It will be playable and will be fun to play, but it will not be ready for the big crowd. The game still will need to grow to attract larger crowds, but the potential is there to become a very succesful game.

    ???? huh?

Of course they are "competing"... they want to attract gamers from the other products over to their own... they aren't releasing the game for fun and giggles after all.

I surely hope the game is ready for prime time at release... Diamond in the rough not withstanding... those that begin to play and get turned off due to bad play and reviews will cause the product to sink.. another delay would not be good either.. but better to delay than release unfinished goods (ala AOC).

    My thoughts...

delanor didnt mean what u saying, he meant that their aims are not like wows - to get millions of players, they will take as much as possible and we talk about thousands only just to get the profit from that game.

I can only hope that the WoW playerbase never looks in the direction of TCoS. Stay in your grindland and keep drinking the Blizzard Kool-Aid.

Don't be silly. I am not suggesting that at all.
