Since I am not in the Beta 1 (unfortunately ) I have a few questions about the features of the game that I didn't find anywhere. And since I know Wish developers are very responsive, hopefully we can get an answer from them
1. For crafting: will there be a preset number of recepies for each craft skill, or will each crafter get different recepies to be truely unique from others, or will it be 90% the same (short of rare finds) across the board like any other recepie based game?
2. Will the ingredients required for crafting recepie require grining, or will they be easy to find?
3. Will there be rare ingredients?
4. Will there be sea travel/ship battles?
5. How unique will the equipment be? Will there be rare/unique items? Will they look different?
6. Will crafters have an ability to enchant/patch armor and weapons?
7. Will spellbooks be different from mage to mage or will it be canned UO style?
8. How will death be handled? (surprisingly I haven't found any info on this)
9. Will there be housing, and if so, will people be able to decorate them (UO style)? Will there be a craft skill to design furniture?
10. Will there be potential for city seiges? (wall climbing, etc)
11. Will every found component be craftable (i.e. fox fuur, rabit fur, etc ) to produce different lvl/stat items?
12. How will looting, NPC sold items and craft items compare in value and usability?
I think I am done for now, so if someone could answer that it'll be great

A few random answers
You will not be crafting your own recipes, no. There will be a wealth of recipes for players to learn, and more will be consistantly added. The unique recipes come into play when a player secures a new recipe through Live Content. For a time, he will be the only one who can make that item, and can choose to hoard it to himself, or teach others.
Finding the materials for recipes can be done in two ways:
1) Buy them from a player or through our consignment system.
2) Gather them. This consists of going to the source (eg. the tree) and harvesting it with the appropriate tools and skills (eg. axe and lumbjeracking).
Yes.
There will be a lot of choice in terms of customizing your character. For example, you can use different colored metals and colored decals to create a unique look.
In terms of "rare drops", it really depends on how rare the creature is.
It is up to the player what spells he or she does or does not learn.
When you are killed, if not resurrected, you are teleported to a nearby shrine. The choice of which shrine is chosen at random, within a certain radius, so it cannot be used as transport. There are some lingering effects, sickness, but in general the death penalty is quite light.
