Two complaints about armor appearance

  1. Too many pieces can't be dyed.  I can see a reason for some pieces to be kept as is, but runepriest helmets are an example of that being caried to the extreme.  More pieces should be able to take dye... in fact, most should.
  2. The option to hide helmets and cloaks is really in need of enhancement.  First off, it is not remembered whenever you zone or log.  Secondly, and most vexingly... only your client respects the hide option... everyone else still sees your helmet and cloak.  That's quite simply lame.  I hope that gets changed.

You're right on both points.. I don't understand how dye can be a large part of your appearance, but you can't dye 90% of the items that you collect.  (unless they are renown items)

New options for helms might be nice, too...  I am off and on ready to try something else instead of my 23/18 Swordmaster, in no small part because the conehead thing is HORRIBLE.  :)  Yes, I know it's lore for the Warhammer universe, but - ugh!  =)

Totally agree.  If its one thing that turns me off from WAR its the gear appearances.  Im a bigger hater that there isnt enough variance in gear appearance.  Nearly all gear (if not all) in each tier looks the same per profession.

And like you said, so many peices cannot be dyed.. whats the point of dying armor if thats the case?

I tried to get my gf into the game, along with server queues, gear was one of the top things that made her decide not to play.  She kept getting new peices and saying "wow.. that blue piece of gear looks the same as the white piece".  In turn, since you cant dye most rare gear you're stuck looking like the next person of the same class.

They need an MMORPG for Fashionista's such as the OP LOL.  Gear stats may change, but keep your style intact!

Personally I could care less what it looks like, as long as it works. :p

I really like the gear my low level Shadow Warrior is wearing atm. I think the gear graphics are good generally. I haven't tried dyeing yet.

Yeah, your right on 2. Sucks when you see one apperance and the rest see another one (remembers a friend in EQ2 that used the alternative korean skins, hes char looked totaly weird to everyone else and he didnt know it until I told him).

They should either make the things dissapear to everyone or take away the option.

Still the game is new, is always small things in new games ::)

Though I agree with the op, I believe that it has to stay close to the warhammer art design.

You're a swordmaster? then you are a cone head. Got to deal with it.
