APB has been added to the list at last!

I've been looking forward to this game, I can't wait until that beta releases this year.  The game really looks like it is coming along nicely.

Thanks to MMORPG.com for adding it to the list.

Also, all you APB fans, register your interest of the game here:

    http://www.realtimeworlds.com/index.php?id=399&pid=3

I think they could use the support.

It's a concept that MMOs have been trying to get ahold of for a while now; a "GTA MMO". After looking at the site for this game and knowing about the company running this, this could be really neat. Highly doubt that they'd release anything with the caliber they speak of anytime in 2008 though, considering 1.) I doubt anyone knows about this game 2.) They seem to be trying to aim for "next-gen" in MMOs but we'll see how that works for them (ala Funcom?) and 3.) there's barely any info on this game so I'm assuming it is very early in pre-production.

EDIT: lol, yeah just figured out that this game has been in production for a LONG time and was scheduled for release in '07, and STILL in pre-production. I'm not getting my hopes up for vaporware.

Dude Mike I see you in every single board looking for a game

What game do you think will be the one and only for you? The under developed ones that is.

Citadel of Sorcery is my favorite but that still needs a good two years.

It's possible to look forward to more than one game.  Of course when Citadel of Sorcery comes out I'm buying it; until then I need to find another game.  I saw the concept of APB about half a year ago and have been looking forward to it ever since.

And, considering I'm gameless (except for messing around on Wurm every now and then) I'm currently looking for a great game to hold me over until Citadel.

Indeed it's been in production for a while, but there is a lot of movement currently on Realtime Worlds' part.  They even have staff members signing up on the fan forums APB Evolved to give news and get some gamer feedback.  Noticeably, the talk of 'beta' is in the air, as you can register interest on APB's website and keys have already been promised to certain community members of fan forums.  According to the site they are already doing some in-house multiplayer with it, indicating a product that is potentially ready for testing this year.  So I wouldn't rule it out as vaporware just yet.  Most of the biggest achievements have been all this year, especially with the release of videos of extensive video creation, and now this addition to MMORPG's list, the momentum's starting to build.

Thanks to MMORPG.com for adding it to the list.

I am still wondering WHY did MMORPG.COM put this game in the list as it's NOT a MMORPG but seems to become just some form of nex. gen online game, I mean a MMO without RPG isn't a MMORPG there for not sure what it is doing on this website.

Oh yes I am looking forward to the game, but nothing tells me it's gonna be a MMORPG as everything tells me it's just a online game with a 100 server cap, again not even fits the catergorie of MMO. Sorry.

But then again I fear this might be the start of just seeing next gen. online games pop up instead of MMORPG's as it does seem to become a trend to not have much rpg in these games anyway.

Next we might see MAG aswell in the development list, while again it is NOT a MMORPG it can hold up to 256 people per server, thats more then APB can hold with it's 100 people server cap.

Or what about Cod/WaW or perhaps even Quake arena? should they get a listing on this website as they do offer similar things to what APB seems to be given oh and I aint even seeing this game as a GTA online, as from what I read GTA 4 multiplayer offers far more then APB is doing only dif. seems that with GTA 4 there is a server cap of 32 where APB as said before has a 100 people cap per server.

So in fact we should get a GTA section aswell in my opinion.

To add, when I picture myself a GTA type of MMORPG, then I expect the option to become the Barber, run a discotheek, run a bar, have a cloth shop, and besides those things, the crafting part that will make shops happen, housing within such a virtual world, exploring that virtual world.

And NOT just be given option that can be found in thousends of multiplayer games already, there for since APB can hold 100 people per server to me it will only be a next gen. multiplayer game, but no where near being a MMORPG..

Make sure to understand that this is pure my own personal opinion and that I like and look forward to APB as a game or multiplayer game, but I feel it should NOT be in the games in development list on a MMORPG website.

Maybe you should pay attention when reading the site rules as that clearly explains what the site considers to be an MMO.

All you had to do was actually read what I said and you would understand the meaning of a personal opinion.

Clearly I indeed did read what you said and I do in fact understand the meaning of an opinion, but maybe you should learn the meaning of questions and their accompanying answers then?

Does it meet our requirements? http://www.mmorpg.com/faq.cfm/showFaq/4

3.The game should have the capability to support at least 500 congruent users on a single server. This is not a reflection of the game's current subscriber count, but rather reflects the capabilities of a game's technology.

Servers will hold 100 players maximum http://apb-evolved.com/information/cities/

Which grants me the right to ask the question you seem so worried about.

    Now the following:

    Exception:

3.Personal contact has been made between MMORPG.com editorial staff and the studio in quesiton.

Thing is the exception seem to stand for the visual presentation of said game.

Your point being what exactly? You asked a question, I answered it, you threw a hissy fit and then proceeded to further prove that you asked a question I answered
