I was disappointed with this review. It wasn't very in-depth at all and only two pages, whereas most other big releases got about 3 or 4 pages. Gamespot isn't very reliable, IMO. They gave 9+ to WoW, which was deserved, but then gave Guild Wars a 9+ also, which is too high. Plus, AoC and WAR both got 8.5s, which seems a bit fishy. Giving reviews to MMOs is kind of pointless, unless they did a re-review every year or so.
Metacritics score for WAR is 88, users 8.5 giving it a compound score of 748
AoC = 80, users 7.2 = 576
LoTRO = 86, users 8.3 = 713.8
WoW = 93 but users 7.3 = 768.9
TBC = 91, users 6.5 = 591.5
EQ2 = 83, users 7.2 = 597.6
EvE online = 69 while users 8.8 = 607,2
Now you can deduce whatever you want from these scores, especially the amazing differences between critics and users scores for WoW (TBC especially) and EvE online.
The only major MMO scoring better in compound is vanilla WoW. The only one better in user ratings is EvE online. And the score for WAR on this very site has been dropping extremely slowly for a brand new game.
However if you really want to make a point then next time use this review:
...giving WAR a measly 75. I believe there was even some obscure german review giving it 69. If you look hard enough you might dig it up and happily post it as some kind of a "point" for whatever point you're trying to make.

who cares about manipulated reviews in game magazines, the only true review is after you have played the game. dont trust such magazines.

Already a thread on this.
Nothing says irony like spelling ideot wrong.
Well fuck I used the search function first and that thread didnt come up, neither does this one. Fubar forum search!
Fair call.
The search function on this forum has been broken for weeks now (See Forum Suggestions Thread in General Discussion)
Mods and Admins - wouldn't it be better to fix the damn SEARCH function than have to moderate hundreds of threads on the same topic??

...and Gamespy gave it 5/5 stars for "outstanding".

Wired gave it a glowing 9/10 under heading "Warhammer Online Lives Up to the Hype"
