Devs took the "chickens way out" when-

Balanceing some of the classes.

My prime example is engineer. The skills made sence back in alpha/beta, but now they are twisted in such weird ways they don't make any sence and feels lame and WRONG.

    Devs took the "chickens way out" when- Thats one pos post. If I was a Dev. This would be the first post I would read. Chickens way out, yep got to read this one. Got to make this one happy.

    Have a 25 Eng. Most of the time, I am in the top 6 in BGs. Having no problems with the skills. Maybe its a skill thing. One of us has it and the other does not.

    A tip would be to read my post before posting since I nowhere intended to bring up that Engineers were underbalanced.

    And people really need to stop getting brainwashed looking on the damage charts all the time, seriously.

    Really?  Are you serious?  This has nothing to do with balance...  Regardless, I don't see any problems with the engineers, they do very well on both offense and defense.  Just because their skills are called something different doesn't make them wrong.  If you don't like it ... change classes... or change to destruction and see how those granades feel from the other side.

    Of course the overall gameplay experience will be effected when grenades do something completely different than what you expect them to.

    It's in the details you know.

    That they refused to focus on the main idea of the grenades and just twisted them into oblivion boggles my mind.

    They ARE wrong, because they don't deliver what promised. It's a ranged DPS class, period, yet people even start DEFENDING them as CC classes now, it's insane.

    OP has a good point. There's a lot of counterintuitive labels being thrown around with Engineers. For example, calling them "range DPS" or "defensive DPS" when in reality they are actually low DPS support.

    Shrug, IM not sure exactly how your post corelates with the thread title.

    However, understand its not class balance but side balance thats more important

    To tell you the truth I don't really even pay attention to my skills on my characters. The names don't really mean a thing, they all turn into just icons with damage or healing attached to them.  What they're called only matters when I start looking into Mastery points.. and even then its for name only. 

    Maybe for someone who needs to be fully immersed in the world I can maybe see how they can be turned off by a name switch.... but I don't see this as effecting the game any which way though.
