I have literally a less then one year old rig. It ran Age Of Conan on high flawlessly. (Or as much as the game allowed) Same with LOTRO, Very High, no lag what so ever.
But in Warhammer, about once a minute or so, my game just lags and freezes for 2-5 seconds and gets slightly choppy. I can't figure out why. Here are my settings:
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Home Premium (
System Manufacturer: Gateway
System Model: GT5670
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) 8400 Triple-Core Processor (3 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
Memory: 3070MB RAM
Page File: 1874MB used, 4505MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 10
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
Display Memory: 1756 MB
Dedicated Memory: 477 MB
Shared Memory: 1279 MB
Current Mode: 1024 x 768 (32 bit) (60Hz)
So what am I doing wrong here? I've tried it on every setting and I can't figure out why I am getting such poor perfomance.
Help! I am not too great with computer specifics ><

I don't mean this to insult you, but it's best to knock out the simplest solutions first
Have you defragged your hard drive since installation (you are using the CD version and not the download, I hope)?
This helps a lot of people.
I'd recommend using Defraggler as oppose to windows built-in version. It's free, faster, and does a more complete (I've found) job. It's by the people that gave us the wonderful CCleaner
Oh, and no I don't work for them :P
