This is just a pool to let me understand what ppl prefer and if there is a little hole for a mmorpg diferent from the same Wow clone.
The question is easy : you want a game that let you always win something , that doesnt let you loose your items , that can let you feel safe and protect without any kind of risk like Wow and clone of it are? or you prefer a realistic game that could be as much close to the rules of the real life? For exemple beeing able to kill your friends if they need to be kicked or having the ability to trade everything you want in every moment . I hope that with my poor english i was able to explain enought well this pool .For more detail on what i consider a realistic game you can check this post www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/205860

we are having a long discussion on the link i writed before . if you got 2 min pls go there and leave your opinion
Might want to change the topic's name, there's no pool here! And you forgot to add 'sandbow' games btw. You got themepark, second life'ish games and others. I suppose the others are sandbox games?
You know it, the best way to realize your dreams is waking up and start moving, never lose hope and always keep up.
Really nice topic. Tbh, I love Lineage 2 and this is one of the reasons why. It's more realistic in many ways. Nice graphics that look clear and more realistic than these cartoony graphics. That's just one of the reasons. I love how when you PK someone you gain Karma if they don't attack you back. Which then you have to burn off, if you don't burn it off quick enough by killing mobs and someone kills you, you drop items. It's random what item drops. That's what I LOVE about Lineage 2. You can drop anything from scrolls to Majestic Helmet. I love realistic games where there are consequences. I think that's one of the downfalls of these newer games coming out nowadays. Not too many have consequences for pking such as a Karma system, or real consequences for dying...lol... That's my .02
I vote Realism by far. I would much rather have rewards for killing someone that played naughty then not having rewards at all for killing a dickhead. If you know what I mean. Rewards for pvping are awesome benefits of some games.
There is no poll here? 21 ppl have already voted .... probably some problems with your browser?
The problem I have with questions like this is that they make the assumption that FFA means more real. If you ask me FFA is less real. When you die in real life you don’t come back to life. When you kill someone and you get caught you will be up for murder and if convicted you will be either spending a long time in jail or you will simply be executed.
This is not the case in most games. If it were, people would have entirely different reactions (as they do in real life). Things like perma-death are highly impractical in a game and in any case would be highly unpopular. So we are left with compromises. My best solution is this. Let the game be FFA if you must, but also let people designate themselves as “civilians”. If you kill a civilian there will be serious consequences. You will lose serious faction in the civilized world and you will have a price on your head. However being a civilian you will not be able to initiate open PvP without loosening your civilian flag permanently.

Erandur is referring to your topic title. Pool - It can refer to persons placing bets for a grand prize for beating out other players in the pool. Usually means you place money in a big pot to win all of the money. This isn't a pool, lol. It's a poll. That's all.
Thx m8 . My english is realy porr... :-) i fixed it
