Excellent timing! The masters of marketing strike again....
Makes sense to me, WAR seems to be getting bashed from what I read of beta, if I was in charge of an MMO I would try to get my name out there while a game with huge hype is not looking like it is being as well received as it was hoping to be.
Competing businesses need to not allow a new release to go unchallenged. I am guessing you are a marketing and business major.
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS) Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve

That would only matter if they would plan to remove the trial after a period of time. (Vanguard was released as a game over a 1½ year ago.)
Now it is released, it is here, it is availbe. And it still is availble today, tomorrow, next month or whenever you would find it suitable to release it. Why would they wait with releasing when it is in their eyes finished to be released, there is no logical marketing reasons for that.
So to be honest these posts, not only yours, seems pretty narrowminded to me.

Right. This is, after all, a release of a brand new game going after another release of a brand new game.
Actually, no it's not. Here's an example for ya:
You walk into your local game store, looking for the hottest Sonic titles.
You check out, and there to the side of the register is a cd with a trial for an MMO on it.
You grab a copy. You go home and try it out.
That's all this is, I promise.

I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
"You have the right not to be killed"
And it seems that you will get the game client for free when you subscribe after playing the 14d trial.
Or one could rephrase it as Vanguard costs $15 if you buy it after doing the trial island.

Failed, even the launcher is bugged with errors script.
Not bothered anyway. back to idle.
