I hate most metal so I'm biased here, but this is just an assault to your ears, a 9 year old playing drums on an upside down can makes more enjoyable music.

Believe it or not music is a cultivation, like taste.
Nobody starts off going "WOW FISH EGGS SWEET" or what not, things take time and if you go in with the mind the "FISH EGGS SUCK" then fish eggs will suck, no matter how good they are.
For instance, you just stated your whole thread about a rather talented metal/rock (Really they are more 80's rock than the 90-2008 metal we see err hear) being horrible when in fact they are not.
Above average (barely), regardless it's decent music you simply have not cultivated your taste for that genre nor should or will you.
So whats your taste in music? Why would you go to a concert with your taste in music?

Yea they aren't that bad, I mean the singers voice is a bit high for my tastes but they don't "suck" as the Op says. Metal takes a true appreciation of music. You might be surprised that many who enjoy metal also enjoy classical. Metal takes actual talent to play.
That's mastered music, it has nothing to do with playing instruments live anymore, it went through mix tables and equalizers until it sounded good.

Going to a concert because one band can actually play and 20 others sound like that?
I listen to state radio in the car to avoid having to listen to this type of music, music being a compliment for this trash.

You don't have any clue what you're talking about it. You find an example of one band. Then you say you don't want to stereotype metal, yet you call most metal(which spands over 20 sub-genres) for trash. You obviously have absolutely no clue what you are talking about, and might just want to steer clear of the subject.
Go back to your pop/hiphop/techno or what you listen to.
Metal is masterful music for mostly skilled musicians. And please, if you don't agree, let's get technical about the music. This has nothing to do whether you like the music it or not. I don't care particularly for Classical, yet I can acknowledge the vast amount of musical knowledge that has gone in to creating some it.

Most live metal I've heard has always been great. In W:O:A, their performances usually rock, so I really don't see where you comming from. Especially when you don't even like metal, how you would know that metal bands live performance often suck, since you probably don't go to a lot of metal concerts?

I'm not quite a big fan of any metalic music, it's quite annoying to my ears. sorry guys but im not a big fan. though the moment you'll read the lyrics of the song you will know then it is not just the way they sing they show their awesome talent but as well on how the lyrics was composed.

If Dragonforce is the only metal band you base your entire observations on, then I suppose it'd be in your best interest to remove your head from your ass.
People enjoy metal because that's just what they like. I like going to metal concerts because I have an opportunity to be around more than maybe the usual 3-10 people who also enjoy metal, as well as the opportunity to mosh (what is considered the metal dancing) if I want. If I am riding or just sitting somewhere I can still enjoy metal just because that's my taste. One fact you do need to realize is that "skill" in music is entirely opinionated. (Unless bands do actually suck, and could be recognized by a wide, diversified, group for their ability to, well, suck.)
Among all of the bands that I listen to, my favorites, Symphony X and Hammerfall, produce amazing metal, and they are still producing amazing metal. (Granted that Hammerfall has kinda shifted from their old sound which is a downer.)

Almost all of it is talentless posturing.
Devoid of musical skill. Angry posers venting for angsty teens. All self indulgence and discipline. Thats stuff makes Britney Spears look like a genius.
My god, have you seen how ugly all the girls are at metal gigs? (All 12 of them).
Metal is a broad genre really to sum it up by picking one band and saying the whole genre is bad is jumping to some far off conclusions

As far as metal goes, I like industrial metal, alt metal and groove metal, but things along the lines of death metal and black metal I detest, all technical little art, which is also how I would describe Dragon Force.

Listen to some old Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath. This is metal and it is good.
Most of all genres suck. Metal isn't immune. There's plenty of great metal though.
Dragonforce is gay. they arent even metal.
But metal is the best genre out there.

And the chicks at metal concerts are hot as shit. shure theres a few ugly ones but theres alot of hot ones.

I like All types of music, classic rock, blues, jazz, classical, Metal (mostly thrash), even a few country songs.
I'm smart enough to know different people enjoy different types of music.

I like some metal but have heard some horrible bands also...i dont remember the name of the band but there was one performing on New Years Eve a couple years ago and the singer literally screamed at the top of his lungs the entire song...You couldnt understand a word he screamed and he was hammered beyond belief.....Like many of you said beauty is in the eyes (or ears) of the beholder but there are alot of musicians that really are not very good......

There was that 1 song I liked from DragonForce. Can't remember the name of it. I'm not into metal, but I don't push no hate on it. I mean some ppl are just straight up ignorant when it comes to music. I'm sure I can find a song to like out of each genre, even if I don't partacularly like the genre. I don't listen to metal, but I've herd a handfull of good songs...but I'm not able to back up this thread. People have different taste.

I'm not a fan of metal, but there are some pretty good metal songs that I like. It's all about appreciation for each fan of music. There are people who hate rap, emo, ska, punk - but that doesn't make them suck. A lot of these songs are actually works of genius to those who can appreciate them.
