Please NO KOTOR mmorpg please?

Because for one I think as a american I speak for all other americans that we are tired of mmorpgs, we want to get on with our lives, when addicting mmorpgs come about and I am sure KOTOR mmorpg will be addicting because the last two kotor games are fantastic, none of us would leave our PCs, especially if Kotor mmo is a sandbox, I am a 22 year old man JUST NOW attending to college because of my hard addiction to EQ and WoW. I finally broke that addiction and now trying to become something of myself

You know the great ronald reagan once said best friends are like trees, they blow in the wind but if you never ever take the oppritunity to catch one you will be a lonely man. And thus thats what mmorpgs do to us they make us stop catching friends in the wind and going out and they make us sit and home and do nothing. So please no KOTOR mmo, you know our parents and grand parents from the 50-70s have no mmos or videogames and they got through life just fine because LIFE is the greatest mmo of all, and we should all take more time to subscribe to it.

Thank you.

sorry....you do NOT speak for this american. I am waiting and drooling over the announcement of another star wars mmorpg. I would prefer a timeline post ep6, but at this point, i would settle for anything star wars which has good gameplay and a space aspect. So NO....you dont speak for all americans, and i am willing to bet you speak for a very small percentage of americans

Soo... you want to penalize all the people who can enjoy what could be a great MMORPG because you are a hopeless addict who blames video games on your inability to get off your ass? You are an addict; whether it's MMORPG's, Soap Operas, or Pokemon Cards - you'd have been addicted to something pointless one way or the other.

Anyone else getting tired of hearing sob stories about how MMORPG's ruin peoples lives? If you chose to play WoW instead of go to college AND play WoW, then theres more at play here than simply "I want an extra 5 hours a day in WoW." You could have easily done both, most of us are.

You do not speak for me.

try again, i am not addicted to mmorpgs, i enjoy them, but i have a life outside of games. I dont play alot, i get an hour or 2 a night, usually between 9-11pm. I am an environmental consultant for some of the largest companies in the Northeast (exxonmobil, global, pfizer, etc) as well as own a home, have a 2 year old son, and a daughter on the way. I have a home , mortgage, and live on Long Island, NY. I am well off, and played football for many years, and still am in pretty good shape. I can manage my time very well, and i play vid games when my son goes to bed, my wife watches her reality tv shows and such, and i enjoy playing video games. So NO, you do NOT speak for me.

I think he was just having a laugh.  You know, sort of like "don't make it because I will love it too much!" sort of thing.  I can't imagine why he would bother posting something like that seriously on a site named "MMORPG.com".  Right?  Hopefully.  I CHOOSE to believe it's a joke!

Also, Warpriest, you say you're 22 but your profile says you're 28.  Please stay in school!

Ok dont heed my warning but listen to this, it was Lucas Arts not SOE that ruined SWG.

  • miagisanmiagisan Member Posts: 5,156

what developers do, and what players do are two different things, don't change your subject matter when you realize it has back fired on you. Devs and marketing screwed up SWG, yes, but your post is about the players and people behind playing these games.

I believe the actual quote was "friends are like leaves..."

The OP's version may have been said by Dubya at some point though or Biff from Back to the Future

The great Ronald Reagan? He usually fell asleep during important meetnings... Well, ok at lest he didn't puke on the Japanese consul but still... But he sure wasn't a Washington or Jefferson, they wouldnt have done that Iran-contras stuff.

Problem isn't how great a game is, you just have to shape up a bit and get your life working too, you know most persons do have a life and are still able to play MMOs. It's about discipline.

amen, if the OP cannot control his addictive behaviour, then that's a personal issue, generalizations such has his are just wrong.

lol... wtf    someone took the trouble to come to mmorpg.com to ask that KotOR remain a single player game.

    Troll more, please  lol

Maybe, that would require me to read it though and I don't have the IQ to spare, cos I just know reading the first sentence will drop it by 15 points lol

Whether they make a KotOR based mmo, Episodes 1-3, 4-6, or an mmo based on the life of a Corellian Butterfly is immaterial.  Basing an mmo on Star Wars of any era helps keep alive a franchise that has spanned decades and helps offer more variety to what is currently out there.  Even if I try the game and dislike it, I know there are others out that will enjoy it.  If all I cared about was just me, I wouldn't have any desire to play an mmo, I would play single player games instead.

Well I am glad I am Canadian so I don't have ppl like this speaking for me...=P

To the OP, just cause you had no self controle n lost yourself in your games, that is your own problem. Why do you feel the majority of ppl with self controle can't play a KoTOR game n have fun with it? Personally I couldn't care less about your addiction to a video game. As I am sure many others think the same. Your own fault not mine or the game developers.

OH and to help with your WoW addiction...did you know there is an EXPANSION on the way? I really really think being a former WoWer you really really need to play it.

What the hell is wrong with you people? Are you completely incapable of seeing the toungue-in-cheek nature of the post?

He wasn't honestly saying "don't make KOTOR Online because I am a serious addict that will fold like cheap dollar bill". It was just a roundabout way of saying that he thinks the game will be awesome, like a lot of other people.

You guys need to stop taking posts so damn seriously.
