Mortal Online is aiming on doing a First Player "Shooter" mode for a fantasy MMO. They are going to use the Unreal Engine.
See the trailer here. But more important ... listen to the CEO and hear their ideas ... it sounds very interesting!
First movie is the trailer, the second is the interview. The "movies" is in english.

The developer of Mortal Online is a new game company named Star Vault (registred on Stock Exchange in Stockholm).
The whole company is valued to just 2 miljon EURO.
PS: www.mmorpg.com should add this game to the list.

has potential to be an awesome game if they can deliver, but how many times has that been said about mmo's in early development?
Fingers crossed though
Yes, the game looks very promising as well as their mission statement on their website to be the leading innovator in mmos. I will keep this game on the back burner and take a peek later on when closed beta starts. Best of luck Star Vault.
Is it going to be first-person only? I have never liked just seeing my character's hands.
lol, another post about Mortal Online. Wow, people do make posts about Mortal Online weekly ay? I made a post on the game 2 weeks ago, hehe.
Can't wait, looks amazing. I'm a big Neocron fan myself. This being much better graphics and 1st person, I CAN'T WAIT. Healing wounds sounds nice. Aging sounds nice. So many things about the same sound really nice and unique.
Oh and btw, mmorpg will not add it to the list until they release more information. Screen shots and gameplay Videos. Screenshots are a must before mmorpg puts Mortal Online on the list.
Interesting, I'll keep my eyes on this.
.............
When in doubt, troll.
IMO, 3rd person ruined PVP.
In EQ1 before 3rd person was added, the being on edge as you hunted in contested area added so much more to the game..
For a moment there, I thought the thread was referring to Mortal Kombat Online.
Come to think of it, it would be a cool mmo.
Oh, look. Another Darkfall.
Is it just me, or is "Online" in like almost every mmo title?
Groovy.
I can already tell this game is gonna be a crapfest.
lol
the problem i see with this game is the lack of solid info's.. ala Darfall..
All it has is some trailer.. and that's really all it's had for a long while now. There are not even any screenshots on the site up.
Darkfall have an outdated graphic ...
I'm no DF fanboy (actually think DF will fail), but graphics are NOT everything... Look at VG and AoC.
This one have a interview with a guy.. And there he says why they are not giving out so much information..
Cause they're morons? Cause you know it's important to communicate... Esp when it comes to MMORPGs.
Why so eager to trash this game :P Too little info are'nt good and too much info aren't so good either.
How can you tell? On what proof are you basing this statement on?
I had to laugh it this, I'm old enough to remember when games all had 3D at the end of their title. It also reminds me when everyone was going on about virtual reality and those goofy looking goggles you had to wear. Also just my opinion, but the 'peak' of mmorpg has been hit with World of Warcraft, not so much the game itself but the aggressive marketing. My prediction of online rpgs is a game like Oblivion which is played 90% offline, but the additional 10% would be "raid" zones with another group of players. Best of all it could and should be free. Think about it, 90% of world of warcraft is soloable (what i call offonline gaming).

Thats true, but when it gets to bad (I am not talking about the number of polygons. I am talking about the design of characters and the animations.) ...then I tend to get enoyed about details ... and that ruin the joy for me. For example I like Couterstrike 1.6 more than Counterstrike Source even thou Source got more advance graphic. It doesn´t look cool when characters in Source move around and they have taken away things that I liked about 1.6.
They have released little info but what I have seen makes me interested about this game. I like those ideas they got ... not following ideas of WoW and War.
The game will be downloaded throu internet and there will be a subscription fee.
Today the stock market is risky. But I have seen reports that the computer game industry don´t get effected that much. During these turbulent monthes on the stock market Star Vault have been very stable.
As I said, the value on the company Star Vault is only just above 2 million EURO. Thats nothing ... compair that to Funcom, which was valued right before launch ... around 300 million EURO. The CEO on Star Vault have made calculations that they need only 7000 subscribers to start making a proffit. So the downside is low ... as I see it. Not saying it´s a totally risk free investment.
But if they get more than 50.000 subscribers ... this investment will be really good.
I think many gamers want a new experience ... different from what WoW and War can offer. AoC didn´t deliver ... hopefully MO will.
It has potential, keep working on it and get back to me in about a year or two.
