Low standards from players

I have a question though from the posts of many disapointment poor guys about war: how can ppl claim in the forums that war is great and wow- killer , and a great succesor of daoc ,and may many other characterisms??????

Answer in my opinion is very simple but sad...

I dont believe that ppl that post that war is indeed nice mmorpg are lying.. they actually believe it...

They are not trolls or fan boys ............

It apears to me that the new generation of players mainly 15-22 y old players which is ofc a huge part of the clients-pie, have very low standards on their taste of whats really good gameplay in a game...

Its not their fault , its just they were not luck enough to be a part of the black crypt ,eye of the beholder, baldur's gate ,microprose's pirates, severance blade of darkness, d& d games in general , morrowind ,gothic, ufo x-com ,fallout 1&2 generation and havent played games that since if u played u have high standards after that and you are not satisfied with every crap game the developers serve u to eat.

There was a time where devs were focusing on gameplay ... that era is over ..now they focus on graficks effects in order to impress ( make fools) an easily coonvinced mass of players and so far it seems to work.

Only solution to this is the mass ( us) , to be more demanding so after 1,2,3,4,5,6 mmo's with crap gameplay that wont sell will lead them to huge economical problems (despair) and BE SURE GUYS

The devs that will dare to release 7th mmo it will be worhty to buy and play with out lagg probs, with good gm assistance, good support and every aspect u guyas care to work fine in a game will work much much better. There is afucking limit to patience of ppl ,wake up dont eat the chesse they give u as a bate so they will get rich by just throwing unfinished products in the market.

THE HELL WITH DEVS AND MARKETISTS

I loved Baldur's Gate... I still hear those series of games still talked about on a few occasions to this day among myself and friends.

This I think is very true, I have played SWG, WOW, AoC and WAR and have been playing games right back from the Spectrum 128k to present day MMO's and I have to say WAR is nothing special in my opinion. Yes I have played it but I think why play a WOW clone when you can just play WOW itself. Some old Spectrum games have kept me playing longer than WAR has, Back2Skool, Chaos and Elite to name but a few.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against WAR or anyone who plays it, it is just personally it hasnt grabbed me and lacks anything new and innovative AND definately lacks that spark that is essential for any legendary good game. I think if you like WAR then play it, if you don't play something else, everything else doesnt really matter.

Patronising drivel. The problem with comparing games of yesteryear and the games of today is the same as when comparing anything with now from the past. You look at contemporary games through a hypercritical eye and old games through rose tinted spectacles.

Anyway, I'm 42 and don't need to be told by someone using text-speak that it's not my fault I don't appreciate good games like in the old days. WAR is a good game. It is different from other games on the market. It might not look different, but that's surface. My experience playing WAR is totally different from my experience when I played WoW. It seems some people can't see beyond good graphics - ie: good graphics = simplistic game. This reminds me of those DF fans who think they're intellectually superior because they're not taken in by modern graphics, and half of them can't even  construct a sentence. If I want intellectual stimulation I'll read a book.

I think some people don't take the games as seriously as some players do.  They just want to get on for a little while and have their type of fun with it then return to the real world.  They don't see games as a lifestyle or a hardcore thing and are the mass market.
