Hi,
I've played many MMORPGs. I usally get some where between level 20 and 25 when it becomes tedious and boring.
I usually do not have long periods of time to play so I tend to solo alot. I hate standing around while the party TRYS to get orginized.
My questions are:
1) Is EQ2 any more soloable that other MMORPGs?
2) Can a Mage solo well or must a figher be used?
I've pre-ordered as it sounds like the game as a lot of potentual. I'll at least play until it becomes tedious and boring again.

Soloing is possible, but grouping is much better. WoW, and most other other games, are much more solo-friendly.
Mages are probably right up there with solo-ability, depending on what mage class you choose.

Well, with EQLive's Lost Dungeons of Norrath (LDoN), they are instanced dungeons that require a group, however they do not require much more than 1.5 - 2 hours of play time. This was a great plus in my eyes for when playing time is so short. They also made the experience good so you feel as though your time was worth it, and you advanced with everyone else. They have also recently added "Tasks" to give you something to do between hunts, raids, or just to kill some time... and also get experience.
Perhaps EQ2 has something of this nature? I am fairly new to the boards and haven't read up all I need to as yet. The amount of information is SO overwhelming, fabulous.. but overwhelming!! LOL
I wouldn't say that WoW curently is solo friendly. It is almost imposible to solo in WoW after level 20 beacuse of Elite Dungeons and other dungeon related quests. The only class in WoW that solo friendly is rogue but it is hard to be even rogue on your own. EQ2 soloing I dont really now.

I realize that EQ2 is better grouped but i'm looking forward to the graphics and the depth of the EQ2 world.
I know I will be left behind by the power gamers but hope that the game it's self will be deep enough to keep my interest even if i have to solo.
Maybe I'll look for a good "playing for fun" guild that works with all levels.
Thanks for thr replies!
I have been in the beta for 2 months now and i can tell u that every class can solo to level 29 with ease so far. Since level 29 is the cap on my server right now, thats as far as i know but i have heard from people from other servers taht u can solo to level 50 alone with any class.
BTw to add. EQ2 is much better than WoW in everything, i played the stress test and didnt like it. Eq2 has been nothing but fun and excitement from level 1 from where you are in the boat until level 29 where you explore Peat Bog to level 10 and beyond. Since i cant say any facts about the game after level 10 i will obey the rules. But you have to play Eq2 to belive ur eyes.
Nice! So it sounds like a mage can finaly go it alone.
I've always though it wrong that by the books mages tend to be stronger than the fighters but when it comes to games the mages completely rely on the fighters to live!
Yes!!! I hated how in the past MMORPG's including the new WoW, it sucks to get on, and have to wait for a group so you can actually kill stuff without dying, but now EQ2, the best MMORPG yet has this amazing new ease for players and will help increase playing time and thinking you got more out of the game.
do you have any organized events such as raides on towns in EQ2 closed beta? couse in WoW closed beta since July I've been in lots of raides already under GM moderation.

While soloing is certainly possible in EQ2, by the time someone soloed to their mid 20's, I'd already be 50 with a good group. Ok, that's a slight exageration. I'd be 50 by the time they soloed to 20. And I'd have alot better gear.
Can't wait to see the GM's spawn some lvl 60 something wisps in some newb area and spend 3 hours killing lowbies until a group of high levels comes in, kills the GM mobs, and gets the loot.
Weee, fun for everyone.
Dmitri the answer to ur question is yes
There is always a system message from a player that says that they will be gathering for a raid on a town for discovery. In other words all the players that are in the level mentioned can come and raid.
Eq2 has made everything easier for the casual gamer. No level grinding unless u make it on yourself, everything is fun. GOD I LOVE IT.

I still don't understand why ppl want to be able to solo in a MMORPG, I mean if you want something you can do alown they why not a console game or somthing of that sort? Sure if you have the power to solo you won't ever be without a group but come on, wheres the fun in that...
What you do today? Well I wen't on line and played with myself.
Silly anti-social people playing online games
Just because you want to solo doesn't make you anti-social. Sometimes you want to go it alone, follow your own path , not a groups.
You can still be social talking in chat ect.
Solo in most all games is possible if you do the right race/class combo and know how to solo. BUt party is generally better for the xp and its more fun. But EQ1 was kinda hard to solo cept for druids and necros.
Everquest 2 for the WIN!
Bush for the WIN!
If you wanna solo get WoW. Everclay is more for the grouping types.
