Most likely alot of diablo 3 information ( cant wait for d3 ) .

  • DaorokDaorok Member Posts: 55

I can't wait till D3 either. I remember so many good times playing on Battle.net with my Amazon mowing hordes of enemies down with my multi arrow's, or teleporting around with my mage and mass nuking them to dust. I'd still be playing it if more of my friends still had their install disks and weren't already playing WoW all day.

They probably won't announce it. But it'll probably be out as soon as WoW dies off. Probably Starcraft Universe or something.

That'd be pretty cool. Would be interesting how they'd manage classes and races on it as well. I know i wouldn't mind playing as zerg, and bringing original meaning back into the phrase "Zerging".

As a side note, PLEASE PLEASE blizzard reveal plans for a Starcraft2 beta this year.. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.

They wont, it would hurt the sales of their new expansion. BLizzard (and Bioware too for that matter) always keeps their new games secret until they almost are done with the beta.

Say that it is Wow 2 or World of Diablo, it could lower their sales of the ew epansions as people are waiting for the new game instead, it is not smart to compete with yourself.

It was 2 years ago when the rumour started on the net because Blizz hired in a lot of new people for a "project", if We assume that is their new MMO (at lest not too far fetched, at this time Blizz already had loads of money) then the game should be ready in 3-5 years, because Blizz are not the fastest dev and have really no reason to hurry the game as long as wow sells good.

They might off course speed up the time by hiring in a load of people, after all they can afford it, in that case it might be ready in 2 year but even then it is still more likely they announce it next year.

Its been reported from Blizzcon that this new MMO will not be shown any time soon(maybe Blizzcon 2009) and it will be completely original.

However, even though Blizzard has stated multiple times that there is no Starcraft MMO planned rumors of a Starcraft MMO will persist(like they have been for the past year).

Blizzard's "secret project" confirmed to be a new MMO with a brand new universe, but we won't hear anything about it before a while.

Finally a new Blizzard IP, tired of warcraft, starcraft, and diablo. (though I still look forward to sc2 and diablo 3)

They are not agreeing with you they are saying that with C&C and FinalFansty that is a good example of milking, almost 20 C&C games/expansions in 10 years and just 1 Startcraft + 1 Expansion in 10 years from blizzard.

    ....did you....

    Forget it.

I must have worded my thoughts wrong somehow. Blizzard is not known for innovation. They have their three games, and have done nothing beside those. Other companies have "milked" titles as well, yes. Never said they didn't. Some companies however have put out different titles as well. Blizzard hasn't. Understand what I mean now?

then our definition of "milking" differs... Milking to me, means a title that is reshaped and recycled over and over and over again in a short space of time but never realy getting any better... like C&C.

What I think your saying is Blizzard are playing it safe and sticking to what they know will sell. They do have a new MMO in the works, apparantly its a new IP.. time will tell.. blizzard are not ones to rush.

Must be that. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding I might have caused by this. I meant to say that they had their three titles and invested in nothing new, simply kept to what they had.

Anyway. Yeah. We'll have to see about the MMO.

No, I wouldnt't expect a major annoucement at this BlizzCon. Not so close to the WotlK launch.

Looks like the Wizard class for D3 was their 'big announcement'. So no, sadly.

terrible marketing move if they do.  it would shatter Wrath of the lich king sales as many who hang on to WoW because its Blizz would then have no real reason to stick with WoW.

its like Toyota planning to release yet another reliable family Carolla and then announcing just before its shipped that they are working on a brand new car based on all the good features of a Carolla.  it kills sales.

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

  • pimphandpimphand Member Posts: 6

Yep, it would be bad business to release an even indirect competitor to WoW as early as now, especially when WOTLK hasn't even been released yet.

After you form a band you get access to a manager who gives you missions like music videos and tours. Band members can purchase vehicles to ride around in. Get mad groupie bitches to follow you around.

Blizzard + Activision c'mon its obvious.
    Fingers Crossed

Haha, I know you jest, but that sounds somewhat awesome. If they could acomplish that in a semi-persistant world, I actually see myself geting into music games.

As we've seen, no new MMO announced, but we all know somethings cooking. Only thing that ruined all the speculation about a new MMO is the announcment for SC2. With that model and time frame, we won't see a new MMO till 2018

I hope it will be a space mmo.

But i don't really care, it's a blizzard game, polished quality to the max.

    Can't wait for diablo 3.

Also for the guy saying Blizzard are milking their products, are you serious?! there's a quite huge difference between each the fomer and latter game every time, only in the expansion, do you "just" see additions. they pretty much rework and improve a lot of things each time there's put a new number to it, I'm kinda surprised blizzard being able to reach a number 3 in one of their IPs though but when you look at the time that has past between the last release of it, you can't really call it milking. Not to mention the few games that have been released of it before.

    Diablo 1

    Diablo 1: Hellfire

    Diablo 2

    Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction

    Starcraft

    Starcraft: Broodwar

    Warcraft:

    Warcraft 2

    Warcraft 2: battlenet edition

    Warcraft 3

    Warcraft 3: The frozen throne

    World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft: The burning crusade

Over a so long timeframe. Compared to others, like the final fantasy or C&C as show above, it's nothing.

However Warcraft is getting close if it wasn't for the fact it changed the platform.

That was a denial I'll admit!  Good job on the link.

But it was a pretty weak denial especially given that Blizzard likes to keep projects close to their vests.   What was Chris suppose to do, admit that they are making a Starcraft MMO before they are ready to do so or say no comment leading to much speculation.

I think Chris might have left himself a small out:   He denied they were planning on making a 'World of Starcraft'  but didn't really mention anything about a MMO set in the Starcraft Universe  (a game which could be very different from WoW with the only similarities being they are MMOGs)   This is splitting hairs I know.

I have no idea what type of MMOG Blizzard is planning but still would not be shocked if was set in the Starcraft Universe.   (Would be more shocked to see a Diablo MMO)

Off topic abit:  Believe me or not.  I predicted that Blizzard would be making a MMOG a year or two before any annoucement.   On Blizzard's website they had a Job posting for a 3-D building designer or something like that.   EQ was popular at the time and I told my friend that Blizzard was developing an MMOG.   I figured it would be a fantasy MMORPG but was shocked when it was set in Warcraft.    I thought that would limit them but Blizzard did a great job of bringing Azeroth to life.

  • theratmonkeytheratmonkey Member Posts: 684

I would actually like them to come up with a new franchise to launch with the next expansion, and not just use another one of their older ones.

Because I think blizzard really needs to launch something new.

Another thing they should avoid is making another fantasy based MMO. I am hoping the next MMO they produce is Sci-fi.

And with that being said, if it is a Starcraft MMO, I surely hope they don't go with something as silly as "World of Starcraft", perhaps something a long the lines of "Starcraft Universe". That sounds a bit better.

    Groovy.

Yes, your comment was somehow valid, given that blizzard has released less games total than there were Command and Conquer games (and shall we get into, say, the Sims?).

    Your comment was stupid.
