Age of Conan Dev Talks Problems

Jørgen Tharaldsen, Funcom's product director, recently spoke about some of the problems with Age of Conan and how they are planning to make the game better. "I think it's okay to say that we simply didn't deliver as good as we should have on all the launch features." He goes on to talk about how they're working on improvements to the PvP system, tradeskills, and class balance.

Tharaldsen also spoke with Strategy Informer about the development of the Xbox 360 version of the game, which he said was "not our key priority as there are a massive amount of PC gamers already playing the game, and we rightly have the focus on them."

The game isn't even as bad as everyones saying because it's one of the better mmorpgs out there and has alot more depth that most of them too with great character customization, just a shame you can only play Humans. I think it's great they have player cities and I presume with that player housing and theres alot of great PVE content I played in the beta.

The only thing that kept me from playing is how instanced and zoned the game was, which made me not want to play because I only like seemless mmorpgs.

It's a much better mmo than WAR for example because atleast it tries something new and has dpeth and challenge to it.

The instances and raid format was the reason I did not buy AoC.  WoW destroyed any patience I have with instance and zoned based games.  AoC had the potential to be a very unique sandbox, but instances and zones......

To be fair, I don't think we'll see a seamless MMO with graphics such as AoC's or Vanguards for some time, maybe even years - but I understand your plight.

Well if Darkfall turns out to be as good as its claiming to be, then you might have your seamless world MMO :)

I would be willing to take a hit on graphics these days if a game had a seamless world, good playability ,content and game mechanics like AC 1 had

Darkfall won't be on par with the graphics of aforementioned games... So... yeah.

i feel that if a developer needs load screens and separation of areas for certain areas of a game, (think the trails in SWG on Kash...)then thats fine.
