Darkfall Graphics?
Personall aftr looking at Darkfall Online, I do not see why everyone likes to bash its graphics. I personall think the graphics look pretty nice. As far as the animations, all they need to do is speed up the rate of movement by the legs, and tweak that a bit. As for the fire animations, they are to reduce lag, and they will be upgraded before release, so no need to worry there. And then the spell animations, as you can see in the screenshot below, they do not look all to bad right now. This main thing is that Aventurine built Darkfall around gamplay, as opposed to Age of Conan which tried doing graphics, and then fixing gameplay later. Anyway, here's my take on it:

To me, Darkfall seems to have the more sophisticated graphics, but you can ask yourself.
(The Darkfall screenshot was in Medium settings on a regular computer like me and you have)

From the videos i have seen the graphics look fine. They arent AOC of course but they arent Shadowbane either.
Your correct Bobdo, Darkfall's graphics aren't as bad as many of the haters claim. The thing is most of the people who do not like Darkfall's graphics are the sort of gamer that cares more about Graphics then game play. The type of player thats obsessed with character customization (graphically). The kind whose idea of a badass game is the best looking Korean grinder on the market. Most importantly the type of player most of the Darkfall community would rather see playing other games!

DFO Gfx are actually really good compared to the other MMORPGs out From the last 5 years. More Detail, shadows, and dynamic lighting. The world itself is *Living* and looks Really good. and its like a cross between AoC gfx and WoW not too real but not too cartoony - Perfect
Take a gander at what general gamers outside of the darkfall forums say about it and it's graphiX.

Look at the recent screenshots. The engine is highly scalable, and my beast of a PC is going to make Darkfall put Conan to shame. Go back to instanced wonderland or cartoon WAR or WoW if you don't like it.
I admit the Dwarf animation induces laughter, but that's really a simple fix down the road.
Let's just skip the part where i post all the positive comments about the game, link the latest screenshots and list all the gameplay features shown in the vid. And let's just take a look at one of those typical general gamers with which you seem to want to play so very, very much.

Some people will actually give up excellent graphics to play a good game.
If they put out a new game that was just like original EQ with the same graphics engine i would play it in a heartbeat.
Others would rather play a game that is really pretty but has no substance at all (from what i hear AOC fits this bill)
